Attending the Khajuraho Dance Festival in February was a beautiful experience. The classical dance performances set against the backdrop of the illuminated temples were mesmerizing. Don't miss the local handicraft stalls great place to buy unique, handmade souvenirs and support local artisans. A perfect mix of culture, art, and tradition.

It is definitely a fundamental stop visiting north of India and for all the good reasons. These temples are pretty impressive and very interesting with their famous erotic engravings. I ended up spending about 4 hours visiting them all. Better go at opening or in late afternoon to get a better light over the temples.
Great experience I visited at khajuraho temple in the month of April. I think this was my wrong decision because April month is too warm/Hot month so my recommendation is that plan to visit in winter season. 1. Crafting - What an amazing crafting 2. Culture - you can easily see your traditions and culture which was followed by them. 3. Crafting speak - each and every craft has their own meaning, needs to understand in positive manner. 4. Massacre of Temples by Mugals- as per local peoples, who are living around the temple is stating that Mugals was destroyed all temple's. You can easily see here each and every temple has broken out from somewhere parts. 5. Ticket - Only 40 per person 6. Premises - 20 Square KM 7. Most Khajuraho temples were built between 885 CE and 1000 CE by the Chandela dynasty.[2][3] Historical records note that the Khajuraho temple site had 85 temples by the 12th century, spread over 20 square kilometres (7.7 sq mi). Of these, only about 25 temples have survived, spread over six square kilometres (2.3 sq mi).[3] Of the surviving temples Recommendation - We should once visit and see our culture.
A marvellous piece of ancient history of India, standing tall even after a thousand years. Reminiscent of the great art and rich heritage of our ancient society. A temple complex consists of many temples. Car Parking - Rs 50. Entry fee- Rs 35 (online QR scanning) and Rs 40 (offline, counter). From ticket gate to entry point - Rs 5 in e-rickshaw. Beware of fake guides loitering outside the gate. If needed, only book guides inside the complex gate and check for ASI I-card, pass. Don't get fooled! Photos are copyrighted.
Khajuraho Temples: A Must-Visit, But Beware of Guides! Khajuraho Temples are a breathtaking testament to India's architectural and artistic heritage. The intricate sculptures, historical significance, and stunning craftsmanship make this UNESCO World Heritage Site a must-visit. The temples beautifully depict divine, mythological, and everyday life scenes, showcasing an unmatched level of detail and creativity from the Chandela era. However, one major drawback of visiting Khajuraho is dealing with guides. Many of them, even the government-authorized ones, are more focused on making extra money than providing a genuine historical experience. A common trick they use is giving incomplete or misleading information, only to have another guide approach you later, claiming your previous guide skipped key details. They'll ask for extra money to "complete" the tour, creating a frustrating cycle. The amount you pay often determines the quality and depth of the information they provide. If you opt for a lower fee, they will rush through the tour, skipping important facts and sculptures. Despite being licensed, there is little oversight or regulation, allowing this practice to continue. To truly appreciate the rich history of Khajuraho, do thorough research beforehand or consider using audio guides. Stay cautious, negotiate wisely, and ensure you get the complete experience without unnecessary hassles!
World heritage tempkes are un parallel work of art and feeling on walks. Mesmerising pictures of god , godess and Angeles are explore. Well managed eco system and parking, guarded bodies and well connected city are major facilities. Sound and light show is good but need more relevant content.
Khajuraho is a very interesting and beautiful place to visit in India. It is famous for its ancient temples with amazing carvings and artwork. We visited several temples there, and each one was unique and full of history. The most impressive temple we saw was the Kandariya Mahadev Temple. It is big and has very detailed stone carvings all over the walls. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the best examples of old Indian temple architecture. Khajuraho is a must-visit for anyone who loves art, history, or old temples. It's a quiet place where you can enjoy the beauty of the past.
Beautifully maintained by ASI, wonderful view into the sculptures from 900 CE to about 1300 CE. Spaced nicely, very well kept lawn and surroundings. Hosts events periodically and provides a great backdrop. Incidentally there was a music and art festival during our visit. Wonderful experience. The local guides are very knowledgeable of the history, although they do hound a bit to take a guide.
