For international travellers : now you need to come here to stamp your passport in order to entry/exit the country.
It's a waste of time...This office is 5km away from the office. And there no taxis.
The staff is friendly but the immigration officer will ask many questions. Show him itinerary and flight tickets !!

Worst border ever!
They charge a mandatory 800 Rupees fee for foreigners - apparently its a passanger fee that by law is only applicable to cargo trade. Yet, they force it on every single person that has a different skin colour or passport.
There are 40 people "working" here - pretty much just standing around wasting their time but none can communicate in proper English.
Avoid this border and cross through Sonauli where "passage" is free.
PS: This has nothing to do with the friendly immigration officers, but with the port authority of India
