Passport Seva Kendra , Kangra

I visited the passport office on 12.02.2026 for a passport-related query and was disappointed by the behavior of the staff member sitting at the entrance issuing tokens. The person, who was wearing spectacles (I do not know his name), was extremely rude and unprofessional. Instead of guiding visitors properly and addressing their doubts, he spoke in a humiliating manner. People come to the passport office seeking help for important documentation, and they deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Government offices are meant to serve the public, and such behavior is unacceptable. I hope the concerned authorities take note of this and ensure that staff members deal with citizens in a polite and professional manner.

The staff behavior is very unprofessional and rude. They don't guide you properly through the process. Connectivity is good--just a few steps before the Red Tape showroom and roughly 100 steps before Kangra parking. Please bring the 10th class marksheet printed on a single page, appointment letter, e-Aadhaar card, and fee payment copy. Note: Please be there before the provided appointment time and don't wait for there call, directly reach out to them, once the appointment time is passed they will not entertain you and ask to come at the end.

The staff is very rude.they don't know what to do.i sumbit my application for my son( minor) all documents for renew passport are complete.but after few days simla office said that my Son application missing parent information( father passport) then after 3 month of submitted,CS Simla said to send copy of parent information by post.they got the document required,but no update until today( 3 weeks) send an email also no reply.what an amazing procedure for renew.not even fresh application.IT'S REALLY FRUSTRATED.

I recently visited the passport office on 12th March 2025 and had a generally positive experience. The staff were helpful and accommodating, especially when it came to assisting with document , which was great. However, I noticed that many people come to the passport office unprepared, treating it like a casual visit without knowing what documents to bring. This causes frustration for both the visitors and the employees. One area that could use improvement is the sitting arrangement during slot times, as there are only a few chairs available, and it is a little bit unorganized. **Note:** Be on time and bring your correct documents to ensure a smoother process for everyone involved. Behaviour of staff is very rude,they can't even communicate in professional way , why people behave like this when they got govt. positions ,they are like #Hathi k dant.

This was my first visit to the passport office in Kangra, and even though I had seen some negative reviews beforehand, I chose to apply here because it is closer to my hometown in Kangra district. I traveled by bike, hoping to arrive at 9:45 a.m. for my 10:00 a.m. appointment. Unfortunately, I reached late at 11:30 a.m. As a result, I couldn't complete my work that day. Upon arrival, the staff member I spoke with was very polite and answered all my questions clearly. He explained that since I was late, I would need to rebook my appointment. He assured me that there would be no extra charge for rebooking, but I would need to schedule a new time. I also realized that I hadn't brought my marriage certificate or my spouse with me, which were necessary for the application, as I'm married now. The staff member informed me that I needed to bring a marriage certificate stamped by the local tehsil or bring my spouse along for verification. He also advised me to update my latest photo on my Aadhar card and bring that along on my next visit. Despite my initial delay and missing documents, my first impression of the place was good. The staff was helpful and friendly, and the office itself was well-organized, although a bit crowded. I chose Kangra over Shimla because it's much more convenient for me, and I'm glad I made that choice. I look forward to my next visit now that I know exactly what documents are required. I would recommend going to the staff directly if you have any questions, as they are quite accommodating. Let's see how the next visit goes, but overall, I am optimistic about completing my passport-related work here. For passport renewal in India, the required documents are typically as follows: 1. Current Passport - The passport to be renewed (original and photocopy of the first two and last two pages). 2. Passport Renewal Application Form - Filled and signed online or offline, depending on the mode of application. 3. Proof of Address - Any valid address proof document such as: Aadhar card Voter ID Utility bills (electricity, water, gas) Rent agreement (if applicable) Bank statement 4. Proof of Date of Birth - If there is a change in the name, date of birth, or appearance, documents like a birth certificate or other relevant proof may be required. 5. Photographs - Passport-sized photos as per the specifications. 6. Additional Documents - If applicable, documents such as marriage certificate (if name change due to marriage), affidavit, etc.

There is no system, they don't care if you have all thr required documents, they are completely unorganised. Many people were entertained before my turn even when it was the time which was alloted to me.

I don't want to offer one star, but I don't have the option to give a negative star. Worst government employees, particularly the passport guy. If you are from Kangra or Chamaba, please book Palampur or somewhere else. The staff is really unprofessional and aggressive. They will not complete your task in one visit; instead, you must visit twice or three times. I want the local government to take harsh action against the passport personnel. Especially the two males who are sitting there.
