Passport Seva Kendra - Ranipet

I visited the Ranipet Passport Kendra in April 2025 to renew my expired passport. A minor clerical error--just one incorrect letter in my father's name--was made by passport authorities in the original document. During the review, I was told to correct this error across all my official documents, including Aadhaar, PAN card, and educational certificates. This demand was completely unreasonable and practically impossible. Despite this, I spent over 5,000 to get a lawyer's affidavit and published name correction notices in two newspapers. Even after doing all this, they insisted on a gazette certificate, which added more delay and expense. The process was unnecessarily rigid and lacked empathy for genuine cases. Major Issues Faced: Unreasonable documentation demands for minor corrections. No consideration for urgency or individual circumstances. Third-party staff with poor accountability and lack of proper guidance. No escalation support or grievance redressal mechanism. Government oversight seems absent despite this being a critical public service. This kind of bureaucratic rigidity can severely affect people who need passports urgently--for jobs abroad, medical travel, or education. The system should support citizens, not punish them for errors made by the passport office itself. Suggestion to Authorities: The government must intervene and streamline the process. Passport services should be handled by trained, accountable officials--not outsourced to third parties who lack sensitivity and professionalism. After all, no one applies for a passport casually--it's a vital document tied to people's futures.

Customer service was good, and they guide us which policy and deposit is best and the passport verification office is also located within.

Today i visited (03/01/2020), only two staff are there (1 male, 1 female) them doing excellent service I have one excellent experience hear. Actually my birth place kunnathur colony, it is only as usual i mentioned in application form. but officer sir was edit the name kunnathur colony to kunnathur. i was ask, he said ok leave it sir, but i was understood compliantly that time, why they edit. now by lovable equation to him (officer), you was changed in passport address column, but who will change my other documents and my village school name board? if there will be change, by next day i will come and edit in my passport for my address without colony. anyway thank you and appreciate you sir for you good thinks and service.

Been there for renewing the passport, very good experience, its a Post office PSK run by single person, who is very helpful and does a pretty fast job. Initially by reading other review was bit worried but had a very good experience all together. Please note this is more of a CAMP where they collect the document and other verification process happens at Regional Passport office, Chennai, If you are not in urgency then go for it at Ranipet POPSK if urgency then would recommend go directly to PSK in Chennai.

They don't have an officer who resolved our lost passport document processing. When I asked him why you accept our online application regarding lost passport document processing, then we'll take an appointment at the regional office Chennai and next day go there.

Worst and worst service Not follow reporting timing No proper response where there is only 2 staffs Waste of time Finding mistakes as unwanted where next day in saligramam office easily process done. Ranipet office is useless as per my opinion

worst place to because the person is saying contact chennai Office i had rescheduled my daughters appointment twice. waste of time and just hassle going there. its better they appoint someone with good experience who can handle and guide people instead of say call that Numberrrrrrrrrrrr.
