Chilapata Forest Range Office

Just adjacent to the checkpost is this small tea house. We had freshly made singharas (samosas to the Hindi speakers) and nimki. They also serve parathas which we didn't have. The couple running the place were very hospitable. A must stop tea shop. BTW, fooding signs in Bengal are misleading. Don't get confused. For most, a hotel means rice meals and a restaurant means snacks and all cooked food outside main meals.

Always been my favourite this place.. a complete thrilling safari is a must to relish along with santhali dance troop beating the music. Lush green and beautiful. I had herd there are lot of animals in the forest unfortunately i couldn't find any other than cows or the local dogs. This forest is known for the elephants so if you are lucky enough you might find one

It's a dense forest and not very popular. Maybe because it's a bit far from Jaldapara. Chilapata forest safari booking needs to be made from WB Forest development corporation website. Both morning and evening safaris are available. The cost of each safari including Guide changes and entry fee would be nearly 2500 for 6 persons. If you are booking online, you need to pay 1600 for safari and guide charges. Entry fee you need to pay online. The park is nearly 25 km from Jaldapara National park Gate. We were fortunate enough to be able to spot a leopard. But there are birds, elephants and rhinos as well, as the guide said. The number of safaris is limited. There are not many hotels nearby and hence you may need to stay at Jaldapara and drive to this place.

Good place for one day short trip.

We take a Jeep Safari in morning... which is start from morning 6 o clock... tickets are start to give in morning 5 o clock...for a jeep 1600 approximately.... although it's all about luck about seeing any animal we only saw peacock, dear

Ticket counter . You book ticket online , you come down to visit the range office , you show the aadhar card or passport (passport if you are Non Indian) you take slip , you enter with ur gypsy . The guide for safari will guide you. But our luck was short as the jungle got shutdown due to Local Recruitment agitation.

Loved the place and people there were really good and helpful. The safari was good through dense areas though we couldn't spot much animals.
