Very bad experience. Both salcete Mamlatdar and the talathi Fatorda Prabhakar naik are irresponsible, uncouth and unprofessional. People keep diverting you from one counter to another. Both Mamlatdar and talathi are not well versed with their job. Talathi finds it difficult to process requests online. Laidback, lacklustre and callous attitude. No doubt they are pampered, protected and funded by corrupt politicians.

Getting anything done at the mamlatdar's office is totally hopeless, even if your Konkani is fluent. Your only hope is the little yellow kiosk on the pavement. For a few Rupees the girls who run the kiosk can get most things done. As usual in India, the problem is corruption. The clerks (or babus) of the mamlatdar had to pay bribes to get their jobs. Their salaries are a pittance, so they need to receive bribes in order to recoup their investment. But they cannot be seen to be receiving bribes openly. Therefore we the citizens cannot get them to do anything. The obvious and only reasonable conclusion is that the owners of the yellow kiosk have arranged a secret system to pass bribes to the babus. Such a typically Indian story. Just sayin.

It was decent & staff was prompt & helpful.

Good helpful people in my case as i dont know to speak Konkani but some really nice people will guide you if u tell them the actual matter in short
