State Library

One of the oldest and super library in saurashtra. Built in 1897. More than 55000 books. Old furniture, gigantic reading table and architecture are worth to observe.

One of oldest library of gujarat state in porbandar city. I strongly recommended to google viewer to visit this place. State Library is very simple n sobar place. The different thing is that elevation view, old furniture, stone carving...n lots of things.

There is good enough space for sitting but not good management as more than half of the public visit the library are only doing discussion and disturb others. There must be some nominal fees for sitting and reading to create serious atmosphere. Also not regular timing for opening and closing. Library time changes according to the exam schedule.

Not expected this kind of facility in porbandar.quite nice place for reading.personal desk and wifi facility is available.library remains open since 8 am till 6.15 pm.charges are nominal.

This place always remind me my old days when I was a child and my nana take me to this place however my nana was no more but whenever I saw this place I always remember my nana miss you nana

State Library is the best library in porbandar city. Library provides huge number of book collection for readers as well as students who preparing for competitive exams. Library also provides personal cabin, free wifi, all books & magazine for students who preparing for competitive exams.it's 2021, porbandar city has no reading room facility, state library provides a best reading place for students. Other library in city are not willing to open in 8:00 am. Truely appriciate and thankful to state library and it's staff and committee members.

Oldest library of porbandar which is strictly needed renovation.

Almost above 50000 books are in the library. All newspapers can be read. Seating arrangement is good.
