Zostel Varkala

It was a really nice stay with nice Hosts. The location is really good, the Black beach is 2 min walking. It was really nice that after check out we could store our luggage and stay longer in the common areas. We would definitely recommend the place to everyone.

Zostel Varkala is very strategically located near the Black Sand Beach on the North Cliff that hosts lovely shacks, cafes and souvenir shops. I stayed in a female dorm and found my 5-day stay to be quite comfortable and memorable. There are lots of indoor games to play apart from a live cafe with ambient music and a killer view on the terrace that runs until midnight. Zostel also organizes various indoor and outdoor activites every day; fellow solo travelers and I had booked Munroe Island Boating through them and it was super fun. Amith and all the other staff members were super cordial and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at Zostel Varkala at least once! :)

Stayed here for my first solo trip, had a lot of fun. Had a bunch of solo travellers around to vibe with. The location is near the Black sand beach which is not too commercialized and has a peaceful vibe. Perfect for everyone. The hostel has a roof top cafe with a decent menu and alcohol available. It is a quite place too, you can hear the sea waves constantly. The staff is super friendly. I lost my earphones in the premises and they helped me find it.

We stayed recently at Zostel, Varkala. The place is a 2 min walking distance from Black Sand Beach.. Facilities are good but what won our heart was the super friendly and supportive team. Huge shout out to Mohammad who was our trip planner and buddy for finding the cool places. His food recommendations are on point. Take suggestions from these guys for all your local planning including transport suggestions.. Don't be in a hurry to rent a vehicle. From Zostel you can actually walk to most places.

Amazing location so close to the beach. I enjoyed the view from the top floor. The food in the cafe was amazing and the 24*7 service was heart touching. Thank you mohmad who helped plan each day of the stay with activities and locations to explore. Also the amazing game night where my team won (it was a close call and it took forever ) was a fun memory .

It is an amazing stay! They've great amenities, clean rooms and friendly crowd. You can find multiple contacts here to explore around including mangrove forest safari, bike rentals etc. not far from cliff as well it is located at a sweet spot! Enjoy your stay here, do visit.

Had a great experience staying here. well maintained, hygiene dorms and surroundings. Very friendly staffs. A good place for your accommodation during your holidays at Varkala. The way to Zostel is a narrow road, though there's a decent car parking area. There are shoes/sandal racks. You can refill your water bottles near the reception area. A Fantastic Stay at Zostel Varkala! Zostel Varkala is hands down one of the best backpacker hostels I've stayed at! From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a warm and welcoming vibe. The property is beautifully designed, with plenty of open spaces, cozy common areas, and an incredible rooftop with breathtaking sea views. The location is perfect--just a short walk to Black Sand Beach and close to the famous Varkala Cliff, where you'll find amazing cafes and restaurants. The hostel is always clean, well-maintained, and full of friendly travelers, making it a great place to meet new people. A special mention to Amit, who went above and beyond to make our stay special. His hospitality, helpful recommendations, and positive attitude truly added to the experience.
