I wish to write this review primarily to acknowledge, appreciate n cherish the fond memories I had with one, Sri.T. Upendra Rao garu, District Registrar, Machilipatnam while we had been to the Registrar's office to get our partition deed registered.
Secondly, I want to narrate the issues I encountered in the process n the solutions that are offered which I presume will be of huge help for many in solving them.
Believe me , I never ever come across in my 60+ years, such a helpful, down to earth and ever obliging ,often going out of his way to help whoever approached Sri. T. Upendra Rao garu.
First time , when I approached him, after going through our papers, the very first question put to me was whether anyone in his office refusing to register the partition deed. To which, not willing to put his subordinates in poor n bad light, I just answered that his subordinates want to register the plot after taking the consent from him
Then the most important issue ...
Me being, aged 72+ years, my fingertips could not be scanned in the portal. One of the document writers even told us that the registration process will not n can not be completed. At this point of time, To find a way out to this problem, I had to run from pillar to post to the Registrar's Offices at Machilipatnam, Bangalore and Hyderabad , even consulted Attorneys for one full year but of no avail.
Then one good Samaritan, suggested me to approach the concerned Registrar with a letter to proceed with the registration in the absence of fingerprints being scanned by producing the documents like Passport or Pension Payment Order of the individual n ofcourse, the Electoral Id n Aadhaar card which are mandatory documents to prove one's identity.
Now, we had to climb the steep stairs to the first floor of the office where the chambers of the Registrar was situated. Somehow I was able to climb the steep stairs but my sister who was suffering from severe knee pain n was struggling to climb. So I only met Sri. Upendra garu to get the consent n his signature on my letter n informed him that my sister would take some more time to meet him due to her knee pain. To which Sri. Upendra garu without a blink of an eye, so humbly n graciously offered to climb down the steps to check the credentials of my sister which was really a Pleasant Surprise to me and was so humbled by his gesture.
Then the last hitch in the process....
My Aadhaar card was issued with the Short name as Gollapalli Solomon Sukanth where as in my Passport it was recorded with my full name which is the Primary documentary evidence of my credentials. So again we are at crossroads n we were forced to trouble
Sri. T. Upendra Rao garu for the solution n Advice. To which Sir immediately responded asking us to retype the first page of the document with my short name as in Aadhaar card followed by ALIAS with full name as recorded in the Passport n proceed with the registration of our partition deed.
All the while, though we were troubling Sri. Upendra Rao garu time n again with our never ending issues, in spite of his high ranking position, he was throughout very Patient, down to earth, never lost his cool n ever in a mood to help out with the issues of his visitors.
