Visited Passport Seva Kendra Visakhapatnam recently and had a very smooth experience. Appointment is mandatory, so make sure you book it online before visiting. The entire process is very systematic and well-organized. If you carry all the required original documents along with one set of Xerox copies (proper photocopies only -- not mobile photo printouts), your process will be completely hassle-free. First, you will be allotted a token for Counter Series A, where your documents are scanned and uploaded, and your passport photograph is taken. Then your application moves to Counter Series B for document verification. After that, it proceeds to Counter Series C, which is the final verification and query stage. If everything is correct, your application gets approved. There is no crowding or chaos. Your token number is clearly displayed on screens according to sequence, so the flow is very smooth. Overall, a well-managed and professional process.

Applied for tatkal renewal of passport. The office is clean and tidy,well maintained. The first counter(token) and counter A officers can be more humble and welcoming. The photocopy lady does not give you change(even of Rs.5) after a photocopy is done and imagine the amount she earns from everyone from not giving back the change.Thats dishonesty at its peak! The B and C counter officials are very humble,polite and had a smiling face while talking.They were very quick in their work.A special thanks to them for making the process smooth and fast. My appointment was at 11.15am and i reached by 11am and came out of the office at 12.45pm.The officers are very quick,however the verification process after taking the token to reaching counter A took a lot of time. Disappointment:Police verification did not happen until 3days and i had to call on the 4th day for it after which it was done. Printing:The printing took another 4days as their machine wasn't working(thats what was told to me when i called for a follow up) Speed post:Was quick and received it the next day of printing. Even though i paid 4000rs for tatkal service,i did not get one and it took 9days for the passport to arrive from the day of appointment. Tips:Reach on time,carry all the required documents and do not be dependent for photocopy service at the place. Biometrics and photo is taken by the officials for your passport.

Very well systematically arranged. Assistance of staff is good and they are polite. Advance booking of the slot is better. Mainly staff are helpful and sometimes due to miscommunication they may take long time to react. Several steps will be there for processing and inside enough seating is available.Overall services are good There is no sitting area for the people who are waiting at the downstairs.

The passport office is located in 1st floor and the interiors are neat and well kept. Seating arrangements are adequate. The passport office staff appear knowledgeable good in interaction and efficient disposal of applicants. However the outsourced staff who handle front window operations are found to be a little blunt and impolite in their interactions.

I booked a Tatkaal appointment and paid 2.5x the normal fee expecting faster processing, but the staff prioritized and processed normal applications right in front of me while neglecting Tatkaal applicants, making the extra payment feel pointless. The staff were unprofessional, gave no clear timelines, and casually responded with "we don't know, it may take time," showing no concern for urgent requests. They also did not respect appointment timings or queue discipline, serving applicants based on their own preference rather than the booked slots, which created confusion and frustration. Overall, the experience was disappointing, with no accountability, transparency, or respect for citizens' time.

There is no sitting area for people who are waiting, so many people are standing for hours and hours. When i went there was a server issue and they told me to reschedule, it's better to improve server related issues. Because people are coming from a long distance

They don't tell you anything in straight way. Had to go to RPO for enquiry and they told that by filling an annexure my problem could be solved easily. This annexure was not mentioned by passport officer which now led me to a week's delay and an appointment under different RPO due to personal reasons. Hope I can rate 0 or negative stars for the knowledge these officers have and the attitude they show at the verification part of the process.

I have completed my process smoothly all staff are well supported. Thanks to manager Gajendra and APO sir.
