Small airport where smaller planes like atr can land. Has very few flights. Good for connecting to interior Gujarat around junagadh

This is a newly made airport inaugurated on 16th April 2022 and first passenger flight started from 17th April 2022. We were fortunate to be there during the first of such flight and the airport was all decorated with state Minister Malan gave sweets to all passengers. The airport is very small and you go through check-in and then through a room for security check and then walk to the flight. There are no escalators, no bus, etc like you find in some bigger airports. The formalities can be completed quickly although tome taken per passenger is more given that staff are relatively new on this airport. Please ensure you have your vehicle booked as there are no cabs / auto available here.

Keshod Airport operates flights from Mumbai on alternate days, currently three times a week. These flights are operated by Alliance Air. This airport is convenient if you're planning to visit Junagadh for Gir (35 km) or Somnath for its Jyotirlinga (55 km). If you're coming from Mumbai, I'd recommend booking a taxi or cab in advance, as it can be difficult to find an available auto rickshaw or cab upon arrival. While transportation is available, options are very limited. Cabs typically charge 2,000 for Junagadh and 4,000 for Somnath, as they often include a round-trip fare due to the airport's remote location. Note that there are no shops at the airport, so ensure you have enough food, medicines, and other essentials. The toilets are clean, RO water is available, and the staff is quite helpful. However, the airport lacks amenities such as baggage conveyor belts, lounges, and shops, accommodating only two ATR planes. Overall, I had a good experience at the airport, and nothing bothered me. Just make sure to book any cab or auto in advance. In summer, opt for an AC cab as auto rickshaws are not recommended due to the extreme heat.

Unfortunately, this is how Keshod Airport looked like in X-Plane (famous flight simulator)( I now successfully updated it, see them in picture 2 and onward). It is shame that unlike USA and European airports, not many Indian Airports are updated by volunteers, So I have decided to volunteer and work on to update this Airport along with many other Gujarat's AP. Unfortunately, as I am in UK, I do not have access to good pictures of this airport, I would like to request that if you are aviation enthusiast and have any picture of this Airport, please upload here to help me. After my updating this airport in X-plane (see attached photos). Update: I have now successfully updated and it is approved by X-Plane so it will be available in next version of X-Plane plus if someone would like to use it in current version they can download it from X-Plane scenery gateway.

It should be better to developed as cargo terminals instead of commercial. It will boost up coastal area covering "kodinar to Porbandar" & other business having agricultural products. #BanCryptoInBharat

Very bad experience this is my third time my flight has been cancelled and it happens two or three times in a week every time. This is very serious issue. Airport authority should look on it.

I had a terrible experience with Alliance Air and Keshod Airport. My flight to Mumbai was scheduled for March 7, 2025, but on the night of March 6, I received a message stating that my flight was canceled. The message mentioned a reason, but when I contacted customer care, they told me the flight was operating as usual. When I informed them about the cancellation message, they put me on hold, then disconnected the call. After calling again and waiting another 15 minutes, they finally gave me two options: a refund or rescheduling to a 4 PM flight on the same day. I chose the 4 PM option. Since Keshod is a remote location, I arrived at the airport three hours early, only to be denied entry despite having a valid ticket. After a long discussion, they finally allowed me inside. It took two hours to get my boarding pass, and even then, the staff kept saying that the flight would only operate if conditions allowed--mentioning that flights do not operate after sunset. At 6:30 PM, they officially canceled the flight. This seems to be a common practice at this airport--they make passengers wait, issue boarding passes, conduct security checks, and keep everyone hopeful that the flight will take off. However, when asked about the flight status, they dodge the question, saying that the Station Manager (SM) will update everyone. As time passes, they keep delaying the announcement, and eventually, they cancel the flight after sunset. The airport has no proper food facilities--only water is available. They do not provide clear answers or proper solutions, even if passengers are elderly, traveling with children, or in urgent need of reaching their destination. When asked about transportation options, they claim they will arrange something but refuse to provide a refund if you accept it. Keep in mind, the nearest airport is three hours away, making travel even more difficult. The 4-star and 5-star reviews for this airport seem fake or paid--do not trust them. If you are planning to fly from Keshod, do not book a flight from here, even in an emergency. A safer and more reliable option is Rajkot Airport. If you ever receive a cancellation message from Alliance Air for a Keshod flight, DO NOT reschedule--opt for a refund immediately, or you will regret it.
