Was pleasantly surprised. Didn't expect this from a government-related office. Procedure on how to go forward with your application was clearly laid out, leading to no confusion. And the applicants were managed properly according to a computerized system so that no one could get ahead or get back. And as long as you had all the papers, things would go smoothly but even if there was any discrepancy the stuff was helpful enough.

I had a great experience at the Passport Seva Kendra. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, and the entire process was well-organized. First, the security checked my appointment and let me enter the office. 1st my documents were checked and verified then I went through the photo and signature process, followed by another round of document verification (I was asked to show documents again, so I assume it was for cross-checking) and than everything was checked for final submission. Finally, I filled out the feedback form before leaving. At no point did I face any issues. One small thing -- I didn't have a clear Xerox of my result paper, and I was asked to get one since it needed to be uploaded. But even that wasn't a problem because there's a Xerox facility was right at the entry point of the office (under the building same building only). The rate was reasonable -- Rs. 2 per page, same as the market rate. The premises were neat and clean, and the staff was very helpful throughout. Even the security guards were kind and guided me properly, which made the experience even better. The only negative part was after finishing the entire process and exiting the office on the 1st floor. I had to go back to the entry point to collect my helmet. While I was heading toward the lift, I was told to use the stairs -- even though there was only one woman waiting for the lift and no crowd at all. It wasn't a big issue, just slightly inconvenient. About documents: Make sure to carry all the documents mentioned in your application, both originals and Xerox copies. It saves time and avoids last-minute trouble. No need to take print out of passport application. Overall, from entry to exit, my experience was excellent. Highly satisfied with the service.

Very well managed office, especially the A and C counter. The staff is courteous and the process is smooth. However the B counter needs some improvement in efficiency and coordination to match the overall standard of service.

Highly understaffed and takes more than 2 hour to finish the entire process. Our of 8 A counters only 3 function Out of 5 B counters only 3 function Out of 5 C counters only 2 function This is typical behaviour of a private operator to save money. Even a normal passport renewal has a charge of 1500. So they are generating enough revenue but it's the mentality of the operator to work under-staffed so they need to pay less salaries.

The Ranchi PSK is located in the MIMTEC IT Tech Park Naamkum and is not very far from the Ranchi Railway station (RNC) approximately 5-6 kms. The place is not much crowded and one can easily complete the whole process within 30-40 mins from the scheduled appointment time. There are a total of three counters with different functionality and there's token system at each of them so there's no trespassing non sense which is again a good thing. The exit is located close to counter "C", overall it's a very quite place.

The place is located at the good location and have ample parking on the road for two and four wheelers. The only thing which disappoints is the unavailability of the parking area and a good canteen in the IT park.

Its nicely built. Doest feel like a govt office at entrance. However at last it ends like a govt office. I was delighted to see the management at the entrance. They also have a photocopy machine inside chargeable at INR 5 per page which is perfectly ok. As you go inside and wait for Counter A, it doesnt take time. You are immediately called for your turn. And then you keep waiting for counter B. When i visited, only 2 counters in B were running. People kept in waiting for hours for their turns. There was a huge crowd waiting for Counter B. Moreover Normal appliers had to wait. Senior and Tatkal had higher priority . Senior and Tatkal arriving at 2 PM also got higher priority the normal applier waiting since 11 AM. There it felt like govt place. Place to sit became short and people were standing. People managed to sit 2 people on 1 chair. Finally my turn came after 4-5 hours. I dont know if C counter ever works. On my day, all people were allowed to exit directly from Counter B. Washrooms are neat and clean. Drinking water is also available.
