Agatti Airport

Only Fly91, IndiGo, and Alliance Air operate services to this airport. It is a very small airport, and only small aircraft, mainly Dornier-type planes, operate here. The landing and takeoff views are absolutely breathtaking, offering stunning aerial visuals of the islands and the sea. The airport staff are friendly and helpful, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. However, it is disappointing to see that the government has not focused enough on modernization or on promoting tourism here in a way similar to destinations like Phuket or Krabi. There also seem to be frequent visits by government officials, with daily VIP movements that often disrupt normal operations and inconvenience regular travelers. This takes away from what could otherwise be a smooth and memorable travel experience.

A small but effective airport in the tiny island Agatti. One of the main gateway to the island. We travelled on 16 January 2026 and there were 2 arrivals on a day. Small size aeroplanes are accommodated here.

Agatti Airport is small, clean, and well-organized, with stunning ocean views during landing and takeoff. The staff, including the security checking team are very friendly, making the whole experience smooth and pleasant.

The moment the flight began its descent, I could see the turquoise blue waters of the Arabian Sea blending beautifully with the white sandy shores of Lakshadweep. The approach itself felt like a postcard come to life, offering one of the most scenic landings in India. Agatti Airport is a small but functional airport, primarily serving as the gateway to Lakshadweep. Though modest in size, the airport is well-maintained and reflects the island's simplicity and charm. The runway is surrounded by the sea on both sides, which makes it one of the most unique airports I've ever visited. Inside, the facilities are basic but sufficient--clean waiting areas, helpful staff, and smooth arrival formalities. Since it is the only airport in Lakshadweep, connectivity is limited, but flights from Kochi make it accessible for tourists and locals. What stood out most was the warmth of the people, who welcomed passengers with smiles, adding to the island's charm. Stepping out of the terminal, I was immediately greeted by the fresh sea breeze and breathtaking views. The natural beauty around the airport is unmatched, making it feel like you've arrived in paradise the moment you land. Agatti Airport offers not just a transit point but also an unforgettable first impression of Lakshadweep--a true blend of beauty and simplicity.

Agatti Airport is the smallest airport I've ever seen, but it has its own charm. Only a few flights operate here and the runway is suitable only for small aircraft. Despite its size, the airport is well-maintained and the people both on the island and at the airport are genuinely kind and welcoming. I truly loved my time on this beautiful island!

This is one of the most beautiful airport in India. The airport is surrounded by turquoise water. The landing experience is truly breathtaking. Though a small airport, it is neatly maintained. The staff there are polite and well behaved. The entry, exit process was smooth. The airport has limited number of shops. Washrooms, drinking water and other basic amenities are provided ensuring a comfortable experience.

Agatti Airport offers basic amenities such as a waiting lounge, cafeteria, medical care, and baggage assistance counters. The airport's compact terminal building spans 566 square meters and can handle up to 50 passengers during peak hours. The airport is situated about 2 kilometers from the city center, making it easily accessible by taxi or auto-rickshaw. Walking is also an option, especially for those staying near Agatti Beach. Passengers can hire taxis or auto-rickshaws to reach the airport. Some resorts on the island also offer transportation services for their guests. The Indian government plans to expand Agatti Airport to enhance its facilities and improve connectivity. This includes constructing a new apron, taxiway, and parking facilities. Agatti Airport currently serves flights operated by Alliance Air, Fly91, and IndiGo, connecting the island to Goa, Kochi, Bangalore and other major cities in India. Overall, Agatti Airport provides a convenient and efficient way for tourists and locals to travel to and from the beautiful islands of Lakshadweep.
