If you're applying for a fresh passport, here's exactly how it works and what to carry (what worked for me in jan 2026 when i applied) documents to Carry Original documents used during application + photocopies If you forget photocopies - photocopy facility is available inside the PSK or just below the PSK floor, there are shops carry one extra ID card + photocopy (not mandatory, but recommend -- I carried my PAN card) Application receipt is NOT required to take. Open the appointment confirmation email -- it contains a QR code that will be scanned . Inside the Passport Seva Kendra 1. Token Counter Submit photocopies of your documents , show the originals You'll get a token like N20 2. Counter A Show original documents Photo capture + signature Minor corrections (like address) can be done here (but don't rely on it , be a man or a woman ,do it urself while submitting the application) Tip: If your appointment is at 2:00 PM, try to finish Token + Counter A by 1:50 PM. This helps your token appear immediately for B & C counters at the actual appointment time ... no random waiting. 3. Counters B & C wait for your token number on the screen If you're on time, it usually appears immediately If documents are correct, this takes hardly 10 minutes after that, you're done and can exit. if u skipped ur turn when ur token displayed on the screen ... dont Panic ... it will repear after some time , and usually happen for like 2-3 times (i got it at second time) Aadhaar Card Tips u can carry e-Aadhaar (A4 printout) -- totally valid make sure - name is correct aadhaar is verified (green tick, not ?) enter same address in application as in aadhar if u r using aadhar) submit documents via DigiLocker while applying (if possible) carry original documents to the PSK fill the correct address while applying . took time to write this so to save u some time..

Hassle free if your documents are ready . Went for tatkal appointment. Reached 45 mins before appointment Guard was courteous he allowed inside. There is a specific poster pasted Stating no more than 30mins delay to schedule appointment is allowed. So be on time. Full staff inside was very helpful. They cleared all my doubts. Rest if all your documents are upto date it was just 30mins process. Below mentioned review someone mentioned digital verification of aadhar pls . Make sure you carry it. Else it can be done at B2 floor. Check document advisor in passport website and carry docs accordingly. If you can upload documents through digilocker it would save some more minutes. PSK bhopal is handling the people very professionally. No need to miss TCS. All the best.

Very smooth process. Thanks to staff who supported this passport service. For the process hardly it takes 20 minute for tatkal passport. Within 20 minute process was completed . If your docs are ready then you will not face any problem, so once you got appointment, keep all the docs ready, then you will not face any problem.

Great service it seems, I had my sister went for tatkal service and amazing response. Team is supportive and systematic...I can see many people saying negative reviews but I think that's BCOS of their ego issue, I could see many people not being respectful of the time arriving 45 mins late and still arguing with the service team. From what I saw I am super impressed by this service better than international mission in US or UK.

Worst passport seva kendra i have visited no one is guiding only interested saying go to that person . I think they should give priority only to their self not the customer . I sometimes think how these people are appointed by the authorities they should not sit on desk instead they should beg for money instead

The staff at psk, bhopal is really very helpful.... especially APO sir.... My experience there was good... Just carry all the required documents otherwise you will have to rush here and there.....

Absolutely frustrating! 10.15 am appointment time, even at 2.20 pm waiting. Had heard and read so much about passport services becoming swift and efficient BUT all talk only. On ground things still pathetic.

The passport application process here is shockingly slow and bureaucratic. It is an extremely old process that seems completely out of touch with the digital age. They need to explicitly mention on their website that for Aadhar card proof, you must carry the full-page printout with the 'E-verified' stamp (printed from a service like MP Online). This requirement is unnecessary, as all other digital systems simply validate the Aadhar number via OTP, and the cut-out version contains the DOB and address. To make matters worse, the experience with the staff was poor. We were met with an unhelpful and rude guard and staff who told us to get the required printout from "outside," failing to mention that there was a printout shop literally just one floor down. This lack of simple courtesy and clear instruction wasted our time and created an entirely avoidable hassle. The entire process is a prime example of an institution that urgently needs to modernize and train its staff in basic customer service.
