This place makes you time travel and visit Bapus stay facility and its different elements which are minimalist and follow their ideologies. The best part is it still embarks the same ambience as it was then. It also has a souvenir shops. A must visit place to admire the philosophy embedded in architecture and lifestyle.

Sevagram Ashram is not just a tourist spot; it's a living testament to Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of simple living and self-reliance. Its history is deeply rooted in the Indian freedom struggle, serving as Gandhi's headquarters and residence from 1936 until his death in 1948, following his decision not to return to Sabarmati until India achieved independence. Originally called Segaon, Gandhi renamed it Sevagram (Village of Service), reflecting his dedication to rural development and nation-building activities. It was from here that many crucial national decisions, including those related to the Quit India Movement, were deliberated. What to See & Do: The ashram is preserved beautifully, allowing visitors to step back in time. Key structures to explore include Bapu Kuti (Gandhi's modest hut), Ba Kuti (Kasturba Gandhi's hut), and Adi Nivas (the first hut built). You can see Gandhi's few personal belongings, such as his spinning wheel (Charkha) and spectacles, displayed in Bapu Kuti. The Secretariat, where he managed his global correspondence, and the Akhiri Nivas (Last Abode) are also poignant stops. Don't miss the daily morning and evening prayers held on the Prayer Ground to experience the ashram's spiritual routine. There is also a dedicated Gandhi Photo Exhibition nearby detailing his life and work. Shopping: While the ashram itself focuses on simplicity, the core shopping experience nearby revolves around the Gandhian spirit of Swadeshi. Be sure to visit Magan Khadi (run by the Magan Sangralaya Samiti) in the vicinity. Here, you can purchase authentic, organic Khadi products--ranging from handloom sarees and shirts to home textiles--directly supporting local rural livelihoods. Entry Ticket & Timings: The best news is that entry to the Sevagram Ashram premises is free of charge. It generally opens at 8:00 AM and remains open until 6:00 PM (the closing time may vary slightly with the seasons, often extending to 7:00 PM in summer). Since the ashram follows its routine strictly, it is recommended to visit during the day.

The main attraction, this was Gandhi's personal cottage. It remains preserved with his few personal belongings, such as his walking stick and spinning wheel (charkha).

Very peaceful. The place takes you back to history in the days of freedom struggle! Witnessing the well preserved residence, office and belongings of Mahatma Gandhi is indeed a life time experience. There are also trees and Tulsi plant plants by Gandhiji and Kasturba Gandhi. Entry is free of cost. And place is too clean. It also has a small souvenir and handbook shop. Outside is a small restaurant with Maharashtrian thali and food. Unique concept of earthen pot or Matka to keep water at each table instead of eater jug is really nice!

Nostalgic. Feeling very small when looking at the contributions of the leaders who took part in the freedom struggle and their principled life. Travelling on the road leading to Pavnar, felt like pilgrimage.
