I recently visited the passport office for my application process. Unfortunately, my experience was uncomfortable and unprofessional. While reviewing my file, the officer repeatedly asked multiple personal questions that were already clearly mentioned in my application. These questions did not seem relevant to the passport process. What was more concerning was that he continued asking personal questions even while taking the passport photographs, which felt unnecessary and inappropriate. The role of passport office staff is to process applications according to official documents and procedures. Repeated personal questioning, especially during photo capture, creates discomfort and can make applicants -- particularly women -- feel unsafe. I hope the management reviews staff conduct and ensures that applicants are treated with professionalism, dignity, and respect at all times.

As per my recent visit The place was crowded too much For passport people of differnt ages vosit here For uneducated people or old age people it is gery difficult as there is no proper information provided The staff is good as per the view point of the work they have to handle Some times its peoples fault who come without proper documents so their passport is not approved. The entier counters where the photo is taken and also rechecked are very fast and there work is nyc also thery are cooperative Inside there are many counters so there is less crowd. One.more thing to enter is that there is no parking place for vechiles you have to park in a hospital parking nearby where they charge 50ruppes just for an hour

All very good but no waiting hall

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the service I recently received at the Passport Office located on Mall Road, Amritsar. Despite arriving well before my scheduled appointment time, I experienced extremely slow and inefficient service. The entire process was unorganized, and the staff appeared uncoordinated, which resulted in prolonged waiting times and considerable inconvenience to applicants. It was evident that the workflow lacked proper management, and there was no effective system in place to handle the crowd efficiently. Such delays not only waste valuable time but also cause undue stress to individuals who visit the office with genuine expectations of timely and professional assistance. I kindly request that the concerned authorities take immediate steps to review and improve the operations at this passport office. This may include better staff training, process optimization, and stricter adherence to appointment schedules. I am confident that with the right measures in place, the experience for applicants can be significantly improved.

My experience was very good, the staff was also very helpful, I really enjoyed going to this place, they have biometrics for passports and passports are issued, the staff is very supportive.

Service is too good and also staff is very polite with customers

Time is not important here . It's ok seva kendar. Officers here are just irresponsible and don't value the time and money of the passport applicant and renewal case. They just work as they like not at all helpfull .If You have a known person in staff then expect better service you will get it's office like of Shri shifarshi Lal. If you go near lunch time be ready to waste 2 hours . Also don't forget to keep digilocker and download all documents.

I visited the Mall Road Passport Office and had a mixed experience. The passport office is quite far from the bus stand. If you mention to auto drivers beforehand that you are going to the passport office. they often charge more than usual. The area is usually very crowded and getting an appointment here can be challenging. Inside the passport office there are convenient facilities like photocopying and an ATM which are helpful if you need to print documents or withdraw cash. When I applied for my new passport. I was fortunate to get an appointment for the next day with a morning slot at 7:30 AM. Arriving on time for your slot saves you from long queues as you are sent inside directly. Otherwise the security staff at the entrance can be quite rude especially when handling the crowd. The process inside involves three counters: 1. First Counter: Photo capture and document uploading. 2. Second Counter: Document verification. 3. Third Counter: Final rechecking. Some staff members are polite and helpful while a few behave rudely treating applicants in an unfriendly manner. My entire process took around 40 minutes and I received my ordinary passport at home via speed post within three weeks.
