I recently renewed my passport at the Passport Seva Kendra, and the experience was excellent for both me and my son. My husband accompanied my son, and the entire process was smooth, well-organized, and stress-free. The procedure was very easy to follow, and all the officers were extremely humble, polite, and supportive. Proper guidance was provided at every step, which made the process quick and efficient. We were able to complete the entire process within just one hour. Overall, it was a very positive and pleasant experience. Tatkal passport renewal at PSK Saligramam was smooth and fast. Reaching early made the entire process - document verification, form submission, photo & biometrics and final approval take just 45-60 minutes. Upper Ground Floor Processing:- 1. Document Verification: Originals of old passport, Aadhaar (mandatory), PAN or driving license, along with photocopies, are required. Having them ready makes the process hassle-free. 2.Form Submission: Tatkal registration form is filled quickly with guidance from staff, followed by brief internal verification. 2. First Floor Processing: Counter A: Verifies application details and captures photo & biometrics. Counter B: Cross-checks original documents. Counter C: Final verification, old passport decommissioned, and new passport granted. Staff are efficient and friendly. Tatkal appointments have minimal waiting, making this PSK highly recommended. Tip for first-timers: Reach early and have all originals plus photocopies ready, it makes everything quick and easy.

Don't judge the situation; read the feedback from here. It is one of the best experiences compared to the local post office inquiries. I have applied for the passport through Thakkal. We got the appointment on the next 7th day; the reporting time is 2.30pm, but the staff planned it for 2pm. Thakkal is the separate counter. They ask for any 3 original documents like Adhaar, PAN, driving license, and bank passbook (the name and address should be the same) along with 2 sets of xeroxes and the 10th mark sheet (original). If the initial is missing in the name, they give the Thakkal form and fill it out. Within 5 min, the staff informs us to go to the first floor as per the mentioned token number. Go and check the screen and counter number (like T40 Counter A2). They ask for the original and a Xerox. Here, the biometrics are completed, and they take a picture and verify the name and address details and scan the doc and attach it. This takes 4 to 5 min. Then go to the next counter and cross-check the doc, then go to the Head Passport office. They will check the doc and the mark sheet. Within 5 min, they update the system and complete it and inform us that they have initiated the police verification. Somebody says (including Google) pre-verification after receipt of the passport, then only police verification, but it's the wrong information. If it is takkal, then also the police verification is a must to complete the application. The next day, go to the concerned police station along with the original Adhar and PAN (one set of xerox) with 2 nos. of passport-size Photo and Application No ( Like MAA1234),once completed, District SP office approves automatically within one day/same day. Once approved, the next day will change to "Police verification completed ,Initiated to print the passport." The next day, it will change to "Passport printed to be dispatched." The next day, it's dispatched to Speed Post. On Saturday and Sunday, nothing is processed. The staff are very polite and guide us gently. So many people have had a bad experience at the District Post Office; the staff are working like the Indian Bank and SBI Bank staffs.

Efficient service and quick turnaround despite the heavy daily volume. Spacious parking and wheelchair-friendly access. Location is easy - take the road next to Bharani Studios; PSK is on the left. Security guides you to the designated parking area. Carry your appointment letter, old passport(s), and the same ID/address proofs mentioned in your application. Process is well structured: Counter A (Ground Floor): Initial processing and token issue (also sent via SMS). Counter B (First Floor): Document verification. Clearly visible display boards show token numbers and counter allocation. Counter C (First Floor): Final granting officer review. Old passport is stamped "Cancelled" (existing visas remain valid). Total time taken: ~90 minutes (Feb 2026). Well organized, transparent, and professionally managed.

I am disappointed with the way the security staff handled the situation. They allowed certain outsiders (Tom, Dickens, Harris), but refused entry for children with their parents, even though the change involved was minor and less than 20 days. A college should be able to adopt such structures without requiring unnecessary parental concerns. I request the management to review this matter and ensure fairness in such decisions.

We went for our baby passport. The staff were very patient and understanding. There is a waiting hall at ground floor and small stall with coffee, snacks and water available on the first floor. Restrooms and mother care room also available in the same waiting hall. Please get all the necessary documents ready and handy to avoid unnecessary hassle. Bonus tip-- For immediate printouts there is a shop at the same street starting.

I'm not sure why I pay taxes if the officials responsible for public service simply expect us to listen without taking any meaningful action. We waited for over five hours at the passport office with our daughter's minor passport application. At the final counter, we were abruptly told to reschedule--something that could have easily been communicated at the initial or enquiry counters, saving us hours of unnecessary waiting. When we tried to raise this concern politely, we were met with hostility, as if questioning the process was an offense. It felt like they believed they were doing us a favor, rather than fulfilling their duty. The entire experience was frustrating and disheartening. To top it off, we were told to escalate the issue to a minister if we had a complaint. As a common citizen, it's disillusioning to feel this helpless--even after fulfilling our responsibilities as taxpayers. Encounters like this make one question whether there's any real accountability in the system.

Very comfortable Car Parking with a charge of Rs.50/- . Waiting lounge is pathetic with plastic chairs and non air conditioned hall. A real torture with the Chennai Heat. Fans don't help as we tend to sweat profusely. Very Friendly and helpful staff who check your initial documents exactly at the appointment time post which you are sent to the first floor with a token number. Photocopy services available inside the premises at Rs.1 a copy. The first check at counter "A"happens fast where the documents are scanned and photograph taken. You may not look fresh for the photo courtesy non ac waiting lounge at ground floor. The first floor AC was pathetic as well and even the staff were struggling. Checking at Counter "B" happens quick too.Max wait time 10 min. Then comes our Central Government passport officers at Counter "C". Very hard working staff. Today was horrible as there were only 2 officers struggling to manage a huge crowd. Another 2 officers joined after lunch. It took 2 hours for a one minute check at this counter. Snacks counter available. These employees are over stressed out and couple of officers did not go for lunch also . Two other counters were without staff. The experience would have been fantastic for which the government needs to have good AC SYSTEM IN THE FIRST FLOOR AS WELL AND HAVE ADDITIONAL STAFF AT COUNTER "C". REQUEST TO RESTRICT APPOINTMENTS TO PUBLIC AS THIS PLACE IS NOT CAPABLE TO MANAGE THE CROWD BECAUSE OF VERY LOW GOVERNMENT MAN POWER. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE DUE TO NON FUNCTIONAL AC AND VERY LESS GOVERNMENT OFFICERS RESULTING IN HUGE WAITING TIME..... DO THE INDIAN CITIZENS HAVE A CHOICE ?
