Coimbatore Head Post Office

Had visited the post office to send registered post. The madam at the counter was knowlegable, efficient and helpful. There was not much of waiting (we visited on a weeday) and the process itself took about 5 mins only. Please note that the office doesn't sell A4 size envelope (they only have small envelopes), you can purchase it from a small stationery shop few meters away from the post office. Although, adhesive/gum is available at the post office.

On all working days, all services are open till 8 PM. Staffs are friendly but beware that only once a month the upi payments are accepted. It is always advisable to carry cash in hand as the demonour of the staffs change once we say we are going to make payment through upi. We cannot blame staffs as the server is down for upi payment for most of the time. Limited parking, so it's advisable to reach the Post office either through walk or through 2 wheeler.

At the Head Post Office, all the staff were kind and polite, patiently answering every question. We visited to apply for new Aadhaar cards for my children, who are OCI card holders. After a long wait, we were called inside, where there were three counters. At one counter, Mr. Dharmaraj sir was well-knowledgeable about applying for Aadhaar for foreign passport holders. He was exceptional--very kind, patient, and guided us through each step carefully. He verified all the information thoroughly before submission. He was also very friendly with the kids, helping them pose for their photos and even giving them a candy, which made the experience pleasant for them. It is truly reassuring to see such dedicated and compassionate individuals providing such crucial services. After the wait, I learned that families with young children or children with special needs can request priority service. Unfortunately, I was not aware of this earlier, so I didn't request it. Overall, the service experience was very good.

Today we visited the post office for Aadhaar update. There were three counters assigned for Aadhaar updates, and according to the displayed information, the service should be available till 8 PM. However, after 4 PM, two staff members left and only one staff member was handling the entire process. Even though we had taken tokens, the staff did not call or invite the people holding those tokens. Instead, many others were allowed to update without following the token system. People who genuinely took tokens were left waiting outside unnecessarily. We went as three people, but only one person was able to update their Aadhaar because of the poor management. The post office department should ensure proper guidelines, queue system, and staff availability. The Aadhaar update process is taking too long due to improper handling. If this continues, everyone will face difficulty even after getting a token. We request immediate improvement in service, proper queue management, and sufficient staff till the mentioned closing time.

The worst post office in the world . The lady sitting at the international courrier parcel desk is such an unhelpful person and she doesn't make an effort to understand what you need and she kept me waiting for 2 hours and then asked me to wait for another 1 hour . I am sooooo furious right now that i want to swear at her. I forgot to take her name. But the worst i visited in Coimbatore. She is so not interested in working.

All facilities such as post office banking, speed post, registered post, etc are available. Although it is crowded, especially late mornings, the staff works fast, they arrive courteous and helpful. It also has a philately counter, but needs improvement in terms of staff knowledge about philately. It also has a counter for Aadhar card related work Parking space is limited

The only place in Coimbatore to send International Parcel. Excellent service reasonable prices. Open from 10 am to 5:30pm all days except Sundays. Ensure you take all items with you. The cost includes packaging all your articles in their own cartons. Excellent packaging. Be kind and tip the packing boy. Please note there are a lot of restrictions on what you can and can't send. Some may not sound logical, but it's best to follow their guidance. Some items restricted were imitation jewellery, tooth paste, Golu dolls, medication. There is a separate process to get approval to send medication.

No matter how polite you act, their response will be always rude as hell I've been waiting for a letter for more than an hour. They take a break at 10 am They just laugh and giggle all the time instead of working I mean atleast work half the time you're at your premises
