To, The Hon'ble Chief Minister, Shri Yogi Adityanath Ji The Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji Subject: Humble Request for Justice and Relief for Poor Truck Drivers Respected Sir(s), I write this letter with deep pain and a sincere request on behalf of poor truck drivers across the country. It is our humble plea that the poor be allowed to earn their livelihood and eat two meals a day in peace. We are not against any government policy, but certain practices and enforcement actions are making survival extremely difficult for those who are already struggling. A truck driver, who hardly manages to earn 20,000 to 30,000 per month through hard work and long hours, is often burdened with 2-3 challans in a single month for reasons like overloading and other technicalities. These challans sometimes total up to 70,000 or more--an unimaginable amount for someone with such a low monthly income. Additionally, it has come to our attention that in places like Auraiya ARTO, truck drivers are being harassed, and illegal commissions are being demanded by officials. If a driver avoids overloading and follows all legal formalities, he is still left with nothing due to high toll charges and corrupt practices. Why is it that only the poor are penalized so harshly? Those with influence and money often go untouched. The cost of transporting a load may be around 5,000, yet the challan for overloading can be as high as 70,000. How can a poor driver arrange this kind of money? In one specific case, an online challan of 6,500 was shown, but an offline demand of 70,000 was allegedly made by an official named Nanak Chandra Sharma (ARTO). Because of this, the driver was forced to sell his truck--the only source of his livelihood. This not only devastated him financially but pushed his entire family into extreme poverty. Today, that family may not even have money for a single meal. Such actions push poor people toward depression, desperation, and even suicide. It is heartbreaking and unjust. A government official's one signature should not destroy an entire family. We seek justice. We request strict regulation and monitoring of such unjust penalties, and action against those exploiting the poor. Kindly intervene in this matter to protect hardworking individuals who are simply trying to survive. We hope the government will hear the voice of the poor and ensure fairness, transparency, and compassion in the enforcement of transport laws. It is a Assistant Road Traffic officer. Here you can visit for driving licence and vehicle registration certificate. You can also obtain pollution certificate and fitness certificate.
