This was my third time renewing my passport. Unfortunately, the process was delayed at the Passport Seva Kendra, Hathibadkalla office, where I found the staff to be less than professional. The initial paperwork and form-filling were handled by TATA Consultancy Services staff, who, in my experience, were more bureaucratic than government employees. After waiting for nearly three hours, my family's applications were processed around 4:10 PM. However, when it was finally my turn, the staff pointed out a discrepancy in my date of birth across documents. They informed me that I could only receive a passport with an ECR (Emigration Check Required) stamp. This was frustrating because I have worked abroad for over 12 years, and this was my third passport renewal. According to the rules, the ECR stamp should not apply to individuals who have worked outside India for more than three years. Despite explaining this, my application was put on hold, and I spent nearly two months seeking clarification and guidance on how to resolve the issue. Eventually, I secured an appointment at the main Passport Head Office. The security staff there were humble and courteous, and the process was far smoother. At counter A1, my documents were checked and forwarded to counter B1, where a kind and professional officer reviewed them. I was then asked to provide Xerox copies of all my visas. After submitting these, I was directed to Chamber 2, where a senior officer--whose name I unfortunately do not recall--examined my passports and visa copies. Without wasting any time, he approved the process and moved it forward efficiently. Note: I encourage applicants to remain patient and wait for their turn. While the process can be lengthy, complaining does not help, even all staff I saw was very helpful for those who even did not have proper paper work, don't even know how to write the name, Bhatt ji, security person outside the A1 & B1, he was helping every one, that was so nice of him. I would like to sincerely thank every staff member at the Passport Head Office for their professionalism and support. Their assistance truly made a difference, and I am grateful from the bottom of my heart.

Please someone can tell me how to book RPO appointment. i am continiuously checking appointment portal but it says appointment slots are booked. try tomorrow. it has been 10 days with same problem. i only need to submit a document. can they let me enter without prior appointment?

The worst rpo I have ever seen ,the staff is pathetic,I had my passport send after police verification and being in tattkal it have been 20 days pending and still not done .We are not getting an appointment,we have been visiting there for a week now, which is not easy as we live in mussoorie,begging (as we needed an passport urgently ),they do not even let us enter ,the staff is rude ,they are lazy ,and incooperative But I must say that sir who comes outside to check and help he is the sweetest as he help people but again nothing is under his control anyways. They never gave us a clear response,it was not only me there were 15 more people outside with same problem .It's the worst .I just gave one star for that sir. And when we checked what the problem was they said bcz you previous file was not closed but the thing is we closed it a month ago .They are really incorporative they are the worst .

Highly disappointed. Nobody will receive your call. Given contact number and e-mail address are totally useless, unless you dont call or e-mail to higher authorities in Delhi MEA. I had apppied for normal passport now already cometed 5 months no any update online,offilne & via call. Very slow process..

I had applied for passport renewal, the process was too slow, I was required the passport on urgent basis but they simply don't care. When you will try to book an inquiry appointment slot will show it's already full. I personally went there to request them for the speed up of the process but the security there showen his illiterate behaviour. He clearly said you have come without appointment go back as you came. His words were "We don't care of your any emergency that's you're problem". Passport officer doesn't reply on given RPO's mailing address. You have to send a graviance mail to get the reply from RPO. As per my own experience it's very disappointing and frustrating.

Staf of rpo office is really rude and not cooperative.. even fans are not working properly for common people. Long waiting and summer. people are facing a lot there.

From last 2 months I am getting message that it's put on hold in RPO no update and when I went there ya log asay behave kar reha h jasay koi bhot bada ahsaan kar reha h no manners at all
