The Passport Seva Kendra in Kathgodam is located in the same building as the Kathgodam Post Office, though it can be a little tricky to find since it is situated at the back side of the post office premises. While the location is convenient for residents of the area, the overall setup of the office leaves much to be desired. The Seva Kendra itself is confined to a very small room, and only two or three staff members seem to handle the entire workload. Given the volume of applicants visiting daily, this clearly puts a lot of pressure on both the staff and the visitors. One of the major issues is the lack of a proper waiting area. There are no chairs or shaded spaces available for people who arrive early or have to wait for their turn. As a result, applicants are often seen waiting outside the building, standing under the sun or in the rain, which is quite inconvenient--especially for senior citizens, women with children, or people traveling from nearby towns. Another area that needs improvement is the token or queue system. There is no digital or manual token arrangement to maintain order. Instead, staff members simply call out names from inside the office, and everyone has to listen carefully and wait for their turn. This leads to unnecessary confusion and chaos, as many visitors are unsure when their turn will come. Since this Passport Seva Kendra has been operational since 2018, it is high time that the authorities consider expanding the space, hiring additional staff, and setting up a proper waiting area with seating arrangements. Implementing a simple token or appointment tracking system would also make the entire process more organized and user-friendly. With the growing number of passport applicants every day, these improvements are not just desirable--they are essential.

An Epic Adventure at the Rainy Ration Shed (a.k.a Govt. Office) Welcome to the VIP cattle class experience! Picture this: 50 confused, rain-soaked humans crammed under a tin shed, 3 whole chairs marked for "senior citizens & specially-abled," yet mysteriously occupied by random people whose turn was clearly last week. Staff generously offer chairs based not on need--but on pure whimsy or favoritism. No token system, no line, no clue who's next. It's the Hunger Games, but with more umbrellas and fewer rules. Meanwhile, exposed wires are auditioning to be live wires, water is dripping indoors (perhaps a free foot-wash service?), and fans are strictly for staff--because apparently sweat is only for taxpayers, not the tax-collectors. Took my elderly mother and waited 2.5 hours. No order, no process--just chaos with a splash of rain. Random folks strolled in like they owned the place while others just stood confused, probably wondering if they accidentally joined a protest. Metro cities get fancy treatment, AC offices, even SMS tokens. But here in Uttarakhand? We get tin roofs, tree stumps (thanks to "development"), and the privilege of watching staff lounge like it's a picnic--one with her feet up on a chair, another chilling on a CPU or maybe a dustbin (not sure, it had both vibes). I've added pictures too--full desi sarkari scene, straight out of a 90s movie. Moral of the story: We pay the same taxes but get treated like background characters. Accepting such services doesn't make us patient--it makes us complicit in low standards. Time to raise our expectations. Or at least get a fan or water dispenser.

I'm giving 4 star rating just only for that beautiful ma'am at counter A1 ig, She's so Kind, cooperative and friendly in nature to anyone, especially kids. You guys all know about government offices, their hectic jobs and too much pressure of huge crowd, so their impact may affect on their behaviour too......but this lady has proved that not every government employees are same, Her helping nature, sweet smile and good behaviour influenced me a lot and everyone should learn from that lady to be kind for everyone. Never forget your roots. She said to me, "Aap ka toh ho gaya na verification, aapko kuch aur help toh nahi chahiye na?" "And I replied yes ma'am, n thank you for this." I've deducted 1 star for poor facilities in that office, i.e., 1. Waiting area is too small, only 3 person can sit on a broken bench. 2. No guard outside for checking & discipline. 3. Lack of computer system (only 2) & crowd is more, so you need to wait extra 1hr in waiting. 4. No CCTV system. 5. Mosquitoes bites inside the hall, especially to working staffs. 6. Violation of rules (only the passport applicant should enter into the hall, but people deliberately violates the rules, they go inside with the applicants, & rules said, only the applicants should enter to the room, in case of minor, their parents can go inside). 7. No token system/speaker for calling the applicants. 8. I think some benches to be set up outside for sitting. 9. Lack of water supply for drinking water. 10. No dustbins outside for garbage, people throws wrappers outside near trees n bushes. 11. No clean washroom - only 1 for disabled person n people go there but it's unhygienic, Also the second one is locked. The Post Office & The Passport office situation at same place, that's why the authorities have to be aware about to improve facilities and system.

Third class behaviour dosent have basic sense. The document review part as the process start the first person involved is highly unprofessional dosent have basic etiquette's i would suggest book somewhere else these people doesn't even put your file on correct way on portal and due to there mistakes u need to rush dehradun

1st of all Haldwani me passport office khul gya thanks to the government. 2nd employees behaviour is not like other gov. Officials they are polite, helping and cooperating nature. Yha tatkaal passport ki appointment nhi milti h for that you have to go to dehradun or Bareilly. Carry e-aadhar with you, PAN card, 10th original marksheet and a photocopy of all these documents. And printout of appointment nd payment receipt that's all.

Housed next though post office in a same building, is small padtport seva kendra kathgodam. If your documents are ok , your job will be done in without any issues within 15-20munutes. --- Carry original aadhar , pan and 10th marksheet and photo copy of all three along with appointment letter. (Or other documents you mentioned during for filling) ---Carry passport copy also if going for passport renewal. ----No token system is there so once you reach as per time slot just reach the counter and they they will check your number and start processing. ---- if any issues just before post office is a photo stat shop where one can short small issues like printing and photostat. Con:s ---No seating arrangements so no need to come too early. Only 3 chairs avialable inside, outside adequate same but no chairs for common people. --- Roadside parking , need to park on main road car or bike though adequate space is there on road.

Very unprofessional and rude staff working there they don't guide or help you for anything rather they try to waste your time and create harsh situation for you. They don't even have seats to sit neither they use fans or light. Government should stop the working of this department you rather travel 3 hours to Nainital department rather than coming to here. They are over smart and over confident who can't even manage few people and neither they inform about the requirement before hand and when we arrived there they told us requirement one bye one which waste our so much time and Try to irritate you they are talking in call rather than doing there work better to suspend the staff thank you

This is for everyone planning to visit - be prepared to deal with rude and unprofessional staff. You will definitely need the following documents: 1. Marriage Certificate 2. Class X Certificate 3. PAN Card 4. Aadhaar Card All of these are compulsory. I strongly recommend going there in advance to check the exact requirements and ensure you have all the necessary documents. The staff is not helpful and their attitude can be quite rude, so it's better to be over-prepared than face hassle later.
