BL&LRO. Office Sonarpur

The Sonarpur BLRO office is located near the BDO office. You can get there from either Mission Pally or Sonapur. If you're coming from Garia, you can take an auto-rickshaw to Mission Pally for 20 rupees, then another auto to Bosepukur (Sonarpur) College for 10 rupees. From the college, it's a 10-minute walk to the BLRO office. There are plenty of photocopy shops in the area if you need them. The area around the BLRO office has large trees and a big pond, making for a pleasant atmosphere. Hearings are held on the top floor (3rd floor) of the BLRO office. Be prepared to wait in line for your hearing, but once it starts moving, it usually goes quickly. Normal Record of Rights (ROR) or porcha applications take about 2 days to process. There are agents or "muhurirs" who can assist you outside the building if you need help.

Horrible disorganised, extremely crowded, suffercating and shabby place. However I was presently surprised at the dedication, good humour of the intelligent young lady officer who meets individuals from 12.30 to 5 pm and resolves their problems to the best of her ability. I met her on 20.08.18 and 24.08.18 and my 5 year old problem was resolved. God bless her.

Every officer is bribetaker/grafter there, without agent nobody can do a simple work, every time they asking for money money & money. the worst department of west Bengal government.

Staff of BLR office are not allowed to public. Public can not solve their paper work without agent. Officers are harassed and showing many excuse to avoiding solve issues.

For selling a land only Certified Extract from the record of rights also called Porcha (CS, RS or LR) or JLRO/BLRO (Junior Land Revenue Office / Block Land Revenue Office) Mutation OR Certificate of Information from the LA Collectorate is required.

Very dingy place. Unhealthy. Very old building. Poor maintenance. Staffs take lots of time and bribe. Bribery is common.

4 th floor is the office, outside all agents sitting, lots of Xerox, print shop inside building, staff not much supportive, absent most of staff

Please don't get yourself trapped with agents they will come to you or even your home saying they are blro staff and extract money from you in the name of getting your work done from office never ever give them money...........
