Kalyani Head Post Office

It is head post office of Kalyani city located near Central park. This is main post office and almost all services are offered here. Please check the Indian post website and look for relevant service, taxes, prices and process before coming to save time. In case of parcel, you need proper packing or else they won't accept your package. Speed post, post, letter, money transfer, Passport services are available here. Unruly, unprofessional, lackadaiscal behaviour by Dhiren Mondal, postman. It is the postman duty to deliver the article at the given address. Clarification over a phone call in case there is any confusion over address is natural. This Mondal had the audacity to misbehave when asked to come to the 4th floor via lift to deliver the item. He further threatened that he will have the item returned and not deliver. My question is does the govt pay you for all this nonsense? Or does it pay you to complete the assigned task in a hasslefree manner?

This head post office is located at the central circle and is in a prime location. Services include availability of IPOs, opening of savings account, MIS,NSCs and recently ATM service has been inaugurated for public convenience. The only demerit is that the behaviour of the staff needs to be uplifted as they are public servants serving the general people. The central government has taken initiatives for the upgradation of the post offices, and Kalyani Head Post Office is no exception

Went there to update my email id and mobile number for my PLI policy(PLI section is located at the back of the building under a shed). Officials are cooperative and helpful.

This is the second post office in Kalyani. Being situated beside Kalyani Central Park it is in such a location that public transport is easy available. Public transport like auto rickshaw, e rickshaw, local train. The interior and exterior is clean. However the entrance is not wheelchair accessible which is a major fault. Employees of this post office are polite, well mannered and understanding. Every counter is marked with the details what it deals with so "no confusion only bingo". If there is a wait time be beside the aquarium. Those fishes are as curious as you are. Get some nice pose from them absolutely complementary with your visit. See the pictures I have posted.

Worst in class service when you consider the postal banking services. People wait for many hours in line to get even basic services like passbook update but even then it's not assured that you will get the desired service . Even senior citizens wait here for long hours just to get basic banking services .Tired and hungry they return empty handed just to return next day for basic services like getting pension money . Currency note counting machines are not there ,all countings are done by staff manually no matter what is the amount.

It's a good post office having all the facilities in Indian Post should have and the staff are also very cooperative....... Some of the staffs are really very experienced and very fast to process your post or parcel... In the post offices I am a good sitting arrangement for writing purpose and it also have some decent space in front of it so you can park your bike or cycle.... And yes it is clean and well maintained.....

Very bad behavior of the kalyani post master who picked my call where I was trying to ask him that i am unable to track any of my speed post parcel, he rudely disconnected my first call and on my second call was behaving entitled and was not answering to any of my questions, refused to hand over the call to the speed post parcel department, extreme rude behavior doesn't know how to talk and act or provide customer service absolute ridiculue behavior and acting as an entitled person.
