One of the best government run offices I have ever visited!! Located in Karingachira on seaport airport Road. It's easy to reach here by road. It's on the roadside of the main road. But be sure you have done the online application properly and taken an appointment . Because the appointment time is correct. Reach half an hour before. There is lot of parking space in front but believe me I have never got parking space here. Usually end up parking in nearby places and walk here. The security will allow you only when your appointment time is correct and he is bit strict about it. Inside your documents will be screened by the staff and then only you will be given a token number. Inside the AC is very good. The place is maintained very neat. There is a xerox copy machine inside if you need any copies. The remaining process is very systematic and smooth. Very heartening to see a government office run so efficiently. For my passport renewal, everything was so smooth, I didn't realise any wait time. The officials were very well mannered and efficient. Very helpful in many ways.

Despite being token system, it takes hours to get things done. The service is extremely slow. Also the security acts as if he owns the place. No wonder why he does that job. Also, the parking fees is 15 for two wheelers and 40 for four wheelers. Two wheeler parking has a small shelter, while car parking doesn't have anything....absolute joke charging parking fees for an open space....and the parking area isn't even properly managed or arranged and congested as well!

The process then proceeds to the designated counters. There are 3 counters. The token number will be shown on the screen in the waiting area. The token number and counter number will be shown on the screen. One has to go to the respective counter once their number is shown on the screen. The entire procedure was completed in about 25 minutes. The service is pretty fast I got my passport within 7 days.
