Chembur Post Office

I would like to highlight the following specific concerns based on my personal experience on Monday, 13th October, 2025, between 12:00-2:00 PM and across my multiple visits (over 4+ hours in total): 1. Inadequate Staff at Counters: On the mentioned date and time, only two counters were operational for the public. Out of these, only one had the facility for passbook printing. The counter exclusively meant for passbook printing (Counter 1) had no staff present, which caused unusually long queues and unnecessary waiting time. 2. Lack of Proper Guidance and Consistency in Information: Different staff members provide different solutions for the same issue, resulting in confusion and multiple visits. There seems to be no standardized process followed for addressing customer queries. 3. Staff Attitude and Neglect of Customer Time: After waiting for 1.5 hours in the queue at Counter 3, I was told to go back and join another queue at Counter 2 because the counter did not have a printer. Such disregard for customers' time is extremely frustrating and unacceptable. 4. Discriminatory Service at Counters: Initially, I queued up at Counter 4, as there was no signage indicating specific services. After waiting, I was told that the counter was exclusively for agents. This practice is discriminatory towards the general public and goes against the principles of equal service in government institutions. 5. Absence of Token System: There is no proper token system in place, which allows people to bypass queues. Those who are personally acquainted with staff manage to get their work done quickly, while the common public is forced to stand in line for hours. This creates a highly unfair environment. In summary, the Chembur Post Office urgently requires better staffing, clear service signages, a proper token system, and staff training to ensure respectful and consistent handling of customers. These improvements are essential to maintain public trust and the credibility of the postal department.

Helpful staff with seperate counters for postal savings account, speed post and other services. It has seperate line/ counter for senior citizens also.

This is for chembur post office chief and grievance cell to address,speed post counter don't have 50 rs at their counter for change, staff required Behavioral training ,especially in work ethics and communication ,Don't have digital wallet balance on this day is why offered cash.its a trivial matter but shows inefficiency.

First thing, there is no cleanliness in the premises of the post office. All the waiting chairs are broken. Staff is not able to handle people properly. I know that nothing is going to happen from this review but atleast I can save someone's time

Each visit ends in disappointment here . While there are individuals who rise above their responsibilities and do their bit , overall there are lot of issues . The place can be cleaner and better lit . The compound and the entrance is in a pathetic state. Now for the last few days the server is down and they are not accepting some services like speed post.

1. people dipensing stamps gone home at 4:00pm. 2. letter coming back to sender. 3. international speed post need xerox of adhaar. there is no photocopy machine in a large post office. Looks like the sole purpose is to provide employment at public expense. It is time to shut it down.

Why there is only 50 -60 token for aadhar card. This limitation is causing inconvenience and delays in availing essential services. I request you to kindly look into the matter and take the necessary steps

The aadhar service is pathetic. when i visited the post office aadhar centre they said they can't give me a application form as it is only distributed at 8.00 in the morning and they only allow 40 forms a day. I told there is no such info provided on official aadhar website but still they refused to give me a application form.
