Regional Passport Office

While the office infrastructure and facilities are well maintained and give a positive first impression, the quality of service provided to citizens is extremely disappointing. Despite multiple attempts, phone calls are not answered, and emails remain unanswered for long periods without any acknowledgment or response. Passport services are meant to serve citizens efficiently and transparently. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and responsiveness creates unnecessary stress and confusion for applicants, especially when applications are time sensitive. It raises a genuine concern about whether the system is functioning for the benefit of the people or merely for administrative convenience.

Counter staff on ground floor are arrogant and rude for no rhyme or reason. The Dy RPO officer on second floor is very helpful and professional. The toilets were maintained. Seating is adequate and spacious. Well-maintained building.

If your police verification is done and application has been under review at RPO for many weeks, better to visit the RPO. They don't pick up calls or answer to emails. Entry only with appointment. In case of emergency, like international tickets are booked, write a letter requesting for walk in appointment - write your name, contact and file number in the letter, and attach flight tickets. The security collects such letters and then they are scrutinized. After this they might let you in without appointment. No dedicated waiting area outside. Be prepared to stand in the sun for 1-2 hours. Water, juices, photocopy & scanning services are available inside. Staff was cooperative.

I'm sorry to say but the services are pathetic. I have applied for passport in Nov 2025 and I had received it within 2 days, later 2 months I receive a letter stating police verification was not initiated. I had to visit regional passport office to reinitiate police verification and within a day or 2 police verification was done. Despite checking on website for passport it shows passport has been dispatched on Nov 2025 and no update is been provided. It's been 3 weeks and yet I have not received any update from anyone about my passport. Tried calling the number multiple times, yet no one receives the call. What kind of service are this passport offices providing. If someone requires passport, does it take 4-5 months for the passport to get back to you?

The most horrible experience with RPO! They never update their website, nobody picks up from phone calls from the RPO office and they never give passports on time. After making 30-40 calls when they finally pick up, all they say is,"Send us an email," which they still do not respond to! The staff is the most unhelpful! I cannot believe this is the state of the RPOs in our country! No communication, no help, no guidance!

Despite scheduled working hours (10 AM - 12:30 PM, excluding Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays), the center's functionality seems limited. Key Issues: - *Appointments:* Hard to secure, with slots often unavailable for weeks. - *Communication:* Unresponsive to calls and emails. Staff often ignore queries or abruptly disconnect calls. - *Service:* No updates provided without prior appointment, hindering passport processing. Given these challenges, it's concerning that staff aren't held accountable. Outsourcing passport services or ensuring accountability might improve efficiency. The current situation reflects poorly on government services. Request: Address these concerns promptly to restore trust in RPO BKC's services. Resolution: Now all Government jobs must privatised to get better service.

How many days need for a 2 years Babys passport?? All his documents, his parents document are cleared... Police verification done on time... 24 days since appointment still nothing...why?? There is no any spelling mistake in any documents.. no court case with Baby and his parents, then what's the issue??

If your Police verification is done and application is on hold at RPO, and the police tells you to go to BKC, dont come here at BKC now, the home guard will not entertain you. You'll waste your precious time by coming here. They'll tell you to scan the QR code on the gate and fill the form and mail on their id, which can be done from your own place too. So if there's an issue regarding passport verification BKC guys are not helping because appointment is not available. Instead they have bought a new method of this QR Code.
