Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), Pune.

I had a very good and smooth experience at the Passport Seva Kendra in Mundhwa. My reporting time was 10:15 AM, and I was able to enter and receive my token in less than 10:30 AM. It is highly advisable to reach early, as the process begins efficiently and without unnecessary delay. The initial stage is handled by officials from TCS, who are extremely helpful, polite, and eager to guide applicants. The work at Counter A was completed quickly and professionally. The main waiting time was at Counter B, where Government officials verify the original documents. It is essential to carry all required originals, including a signature-verified Aadhaar card, marriage certificate (if applicable), 10th marksheet, and PAN card. If the marriage certificate is not available, Annexure J downloaded from the passport website must be provided. Uploading documents in the online application and verifying them through DigiLocker makes the process faster and smoother. Counter C involved another verification by Government officials, which was also handled efficiently. Since mine was a normal application, no additional APO verification was required. Overall, the entire process took only about 2 hours. The system was well organized, the staff were supportive, and the experience was efficient and stress-free. It was much faster than expected, and the overall management of applicants was excellent.

My appointment was at 11 am and I left at 4:30 pm! So long waiting time for B counter. I waited for my turn almost 5 hours! Not enough seating area. I had to sit on ground! So much crowd! A small food stall is there inside, but snacks are so much overpriced! Bring lunch and water bottle with you. You can go outside to eat. So much tiring to wait

Process was clear and swift but the number of applicants were huge leading to a huge rush. 1) Arrived at the location 9:45/10:00AM as my reporting was of 11:15AM. Also pls use pay and park to avoid any mental stress of your vehicle 2)Had light breakfast just in front of PSK and a tea which was pf nominal charges 3)Got in the close proximity of the PSK to know what was the lineup for and thus got to know it was for the one with reporting time of 11:15 4)You'll have to show the appointment letter/document of passport application. Both hardcopy and soft-copy would work 5) Once inside get in line and avoid any tobacco product with yourselves as checking is stringent and would be confiscated if found 6) There is a person of PSK wandering int the line area to assist the ones who require help 7) In-house xerox print is available but the line for that is huge thus as i did i sprang outside got xerox and got in again quickly by showing the appointment letter to guard once again 8) Post document verification you'll get a token number written down on you appointment letter like N(),S(),T() and you'll have to proceed to the A counter as per your token number display on the TV 9)Post A counter B counter and simultaneously either C counter or the APO cabin 10)Rush here is inevitable thus pls equip yourselves with enough water+ors and some healthy snacks like dryfruits etc as i got out 5PM, thus making my total wait time 6hrs(11AM-5PM) approx 11) Also try to be a good Samaritan by giving up seats for needy person , helping anyone you find in distress . This Passport Seva Kendra urgently needs significant improvement in both process management and basic facilities. My appointment was scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 12:15 p.m., and I was instructed to report by 11:45 a.m. I arrived on time, but there seemed to be no purpose in asking applicants to report early, as I finally exited the office only at 3:30 p.m. The total processing time was far beyond what was indicated in the appointment letter. I have previously renewed my passport in cities like Bangalore, where the entire process took just 15-30 minutes. In comparison, the experience at the Pune office was extremely inconvenient and poorly managed. Although there is a token system and the initial counters move relatively fast, the waiting time for B and C counters is excessive. The token calling does not appear to follow a proper sequence and feels random, which adds to the frustration. Applicants are forced to constantly monitor the screens as token numbers change rapidly, making it stressful and mentally exhausting. The physical infrastructure is equally concerning. There is insufficient seating, overcrowding throughout the premises, and no proper passageways. One has to push through people just to move from one place to another. It is especially difficult for elderly people, parents with babies, and anyone who is unwell. The overall environment is chaotic and uncomfortable. While the staff at the counters were polite and professional, the overall system and execution were highly inefficient. Another disappointing aspect was the feedback process. Toward the end, I attempted to provide written feedback at the kiosk. However, before I could complete my comments, security personnel intervened and pressed "submit" on my behalf, denying me the opportunity to share my actual feedback. Additionally, there is no proper provision for drinking water or reasonably priced food inside. The only available option was a CCD counter where items are overpriced and not particularly healthy. Given the long waiting times, basic amenities should be ensured for applicants. Based on my appointment slot, I had planned only a half-day leave from work, assuming the process would take 15-20 minutes. Instead, it turned into a nearly four-hour ordeal. Overall, the experience was unnecessarily stressful and poorly managed. Significant improvements in scheduling, crowd management, infrastructure, and basic amenities are needed to make the process efficient and citizen-friendly.

Very disappointing experience at this passport office. The claim that the passport process is completed within 30-45 minutes is nothing but a myth now. The entire system feels more like a business than a service. For a simple reissue of a passport, they ask for unnecessary photocopies -- even of the first page of your passport just to check which officer issued it, despite having the original in hand. They repeatedly demand new photocopies of various documents, even when all originals are already presented. It's clear they are doing this because there's a xerox machine inside, charging 2 per page, turning it into a profit setup rather than a facilitation. On top of that, they've installed food stalls selling coffee, sandwiches, and water at inflated prices. The entire setup seems designed for business rather than public service. Senior citizens and Tatkal applicants are given first preference, while regular applicants -- even with fixed appointments -- are made to wait for 4-5 hours or more. It seems the only way to get faster service is to pay extra under the Tatkal scheme, which ironically still takes almost the entire day. For passport reissue, only Aadhaar and the passport should be sufficient. Yet, the unnecessary formalities continue. The manager himself mentioned that the office capacity is about 500-600 people, but they schedule nearly 1,600 appointments a day -- no wonder the chaos and long waiting hours. It's high time the government looks into these practices and brings transparency to how these offices are being run.

The actual work inside office is structured but reaching there itself is a pain due to ongoing work of the fly over bridge on railway line. Traffic is diverted like mad and in disciplined drivers add to it. Not sure if bad roads are more frustrating or dust all over. Also- please ensure you have e verified Adhar card copy with you else spend rs.100 to get it outside the door

Worst experience ever at PSK Mundwa. Extremely poor management and zero crowd control. There was no proper seating arrangement--forget seating, there wasn't even enough space to stand. The crowding was so bad that men were pressed against women, which was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable. Even while standing, you could barely move. When your number is called at Counter C, you literally have to push through the crowd to reach the counter. I was forced to stand from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, controlling thirst and the need to use the washroom the entire time. Despite my case being only for submission of a pending document, I was still made to go through Counters A, B, and C, wasting hours unnecessarily. This level of mismanagement at a Passport Seva Kendra is shocking. Basic dignity, safety, and organization are completely missing. Highly disappointing experience.

I had visited Pune PSK for my reissue of passport. The process was seamless and quick. My appointment was in the afternoon at 3:30 pm so the rush had already been gone by 4 pm. The only way one can find the process easy and simple would be carrying all the documents which are of course valid. I had carried all the documents even the extra ones just in case if they ask to show. Saw people struggling there from counter C to again go and scan proper documents at counter A. So carry all the necessary documents and if you get an afternoon batch that just adds to your luck in quick processing of your application.
