Arumbakkam sub Post Office

The postman named Thayanethi is consistently failing to deliver my Speed Post. The Speed Post is addressed to me at my permanent address. Due to work commitments, I am currently not staying at that address; however, my family friends are residing there and are fully authorized to receive the post on my behalf and provide an authorized signature. Despite this, the postman is refusing to deliver the article. On one occasion, he visited the address, and my family friends requested him to hand over the Speed Post, but he refused to do so. As per Speed Post delivery rules, there is no requirement that the article must be handed over only to the addressee personally; it can be delivered to an authorized person such as a family member, friend, or guardian who can sign for receipt. After learning that the article was not delivered, I personally visited the post office, where the postman was in possession of the Speed Post. I requested him to hand it over to me directly. Even then, he refused, stating that since I was not present when he previously visited the address, he could not deliver it now. This reasoning is completely illogical, as I was physically present at the post office and requesting my own Speed Post. Additionally, he asked unnecessary and inappropriate questions, such as demanding to see my house and stating that he would not deliver the post unless he personally verified my presence at the residence. This behavior is unacceptable. It is unreasonable to expect an individual to remain at home at all times, especially when there are authorized persons available to receive postal articles. This is not an isolated incident; the same issue has occurred on three separate occasions. I have also heard complaints that this postman delivers letters only after receiving money, though I cannot confirm this personally. I am concerned about the lack of oversight and action from the branch management regarding such repeated misconduct. This behavior reflects a serious dereliction of duty and has caused me unnecessary inconvenience and distress. I request immediate intervention and appropriate action to ensure proper delivery of postal articles as per the rules.

Went for Aadhar Card. The lady who is sitting in the respective counter does not respond to our queries. Very arrogant behaviour. The branch manager should take required actions. Other executives are very supportive.

I visited the Arumbakkam Sub Post Office to send a courier and was pleased with the quick and efficient service. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the process smooth. The place can get a bit crowded, especially on Saturdays, but overall, it was a good experience.

Dealing with the staff here is incredibly frustrating. They come across as extremely lazy and unresponsive. There's no sense of accountability or urgency. Honestly, it's disappointing that taxpayer money supports such poor service. This place really needs a serious overhaul in attitude and efficiency.

The ady who picks up the call must be fired. I have been waiting for my package since 3 days but they haven't notified, neither they share delivery contact number. Very very irresponsible with their work. Only knows how to make idli and sambar in office and have party. They aren't getting paid by government most probably.

Visited to get aadhar which will done only on Saturday. There will pretty big queue as be it update to aadhar or new aadhar is only done on 1 day on a week (saturday). The process was slow as was the system. Could have been 2 counter since it is only 1 day a week for a quick service

I called to request for my passport speed post tracking and the Madam who talked with me was so professional and kind. Listened to me to the depth and answered all my queries. Need more Government officers like her. Jai Hind

There's inordinate delay in withdrawing cash.staff don't come to the counters in time.Senior citizens are put into hardship,as there are only two counters where the disposal is very slow.The Post Master is of no help when we complain. They have to improve a lot
