Passport Seva Kendra's are places where Indian citizens can avail passport service throughout the nation. They have decided the entire process into two areas: Inside the office and outside of the office. When you enter the Kendra, you will deal with a group of people (outsourced company staff) who will check your papers and if they are in order, you will be ushered in to inside the office. Inside the office there are four sections A, B, C and APO1. In section A, all your documents will be uploaded by the outsourced company staff and sent to section B where the applicant start seeing the central government employees. Section B,C and APO1 are basically the hierarchy based on their expertise and experience. Normally, for the majority of applicants, the process ends with Section C but for a few if it is escalated, APO1 will see. It's a one big air-conditioned hall devided into different sections. They have adequate number of people to assist and guide people to the right sections but the sections Government by the Government were a disappointment. At the exit point, the security guard was sitting with a desktop access to ask people to write their feedback. It looked to me that he was selective in asking so my suggestion is that every applicant can be given a link after the appointment to write their feedback.

I regret so much choosing this PSK, the staffs specially the counters B and C ( i am not sure if they are permanently in those stations) the APO aka the head of this branch of PSK and the senior superintendent was immaturely rude and indecisively unprofessional!! All they require is to waste each of our time and energy. To make things worse, not even one from the entire office paid any attention or any respect for people that waited for hours together. I was there at 10:30 am and came out highly disappointed at 2 pm ( for just a PCC issuance) , that too without finishing the procedure - due to their lack of understanding and communication!!!! Never choose this office!

Recently, I applied for passports for myself and my family at PSK Amijikarai, Chennai. The experience was smooth and hassle-free. My appointment was at 12:30 pm, and the entire process was completed within two hours. The staff were organized and the workflow was efficient. I recommend filling the online application carefully, ensuring it matches your Aadhaar details. Carry photocopies of all documents mentioned in the application along with the originals. The only downside is the lack of car parking facilities, which can be inconvenient. Overall, it was a positive and efficient experience. Security checks were quick, and desks were helpful.

I visited PSK Aminjikarai for passport renewal. My experience was mostly disappointing. At the entrance checking area, the staff behavior was very harsh and felt disrespectful. Applicants already come with tension about documents, so polite communication would help. The reception counter experience was good. They guided properly and issued the token smoothly. In Section A, the officers were professional, helpful, and doing their work sincerely. This was the only part of the process that felt smooth and respectful. However, Section B was disappointing. The approach seems to focus more on finding mistakes and rejecting applications rather than guiding people on how to correct them. The worst experience was in Section C. It felt like they were not interested in processing applications at all. Staff behavior was not polite, and applicants were spoken to in a very discouraging manner. Proper training in public interaction and respectful communication is needed. I understand the work pressure in PSK, but public service requires patience and basic courtesy. I am giving 2 stars only because of the good support in Section A. The rest of the experience needs serious improvement.

Very Disappointing Experience at Passport Seva Kendra, Aminjikarai, Chennai (Reception Staff) I visited Passport Seva Kendra, Aminjikarai, Chennai at my scheduled appointment time with my 9-month-old baby, and I was alone. Unfortunately, the experience at the reception was extremely bad and stressful. The staff at the reception were very rude and insensitive. They showed no concern or basic human kindness even after seeing that I was alone managing a small baby. The Passport Seva official website does not clearly mention that photos are mandatory for kids below 4 years. But at the counter, they suddenly demanded a photo of my baby and gave me just 15 minutes to either bring the photo or reschedule the appointment. This caused huge stress and anxiety.Being alone with a baby, they could have at least shown some understanding and empathy, but instead, they were very harsh and unhelpful. My BP literally shot up because of the way they treated me.Somehow, I managed to get my baby's passport-size photo taken and came back. After that, I was sent to Counters A, B, and C, and I must say -- the staff there were excellent. They were patient, polite, and very helpful, and they completed my application smoothly. The only problem is the reception staff. They seriously need to be replaced or trained to be more caring, polite, and customer-friendly. A government service center should not treat people like this, especially parents with small children. Reception - Very bad, rude & stressful. Counters A, B, C - Very good, supportive & professional.

Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this Passport Kendra. Reception and Counter A (run by TCS) are efficient and move quickly, with 10+ counters. However, Counter B (3-4 officers) is slow, and Counter C (only 2 officers) is painfully slow. With 100+ people waiting and only 2 officers at Counter C, the lack of handling capacity is obvious. There is clearly a shortage of staff and poor space management, with very limited seating. It took nearly 4 hours to reach counter C only to be told that there was an issue. If there was a problem, why was it not identified at Reception, Counter A / B, or during online application submission? Why make people pay fees and spend hours waiting just to reject them at the final stage? Applicants are physically present, biometric fingerprints are captured, and previous passport details are already in the system. There cannot be stronger proof of identity than this. Rejecting at the final counter after all prior clearances makes no sense. Tatkal (T) and S tokens are given priority, while N tokens are pushed to the end. There is no separate system for fresh and renewal passports, which adds to the chaos. The website asks for DigiLocker access and upload, yet they still demand photocopies and originals, making DigiLocker completely pointless. This is a serious system design flaw. Staff at Counters B and C are rude , unhelpful and display an attitude instead of offering guidance (especially at C3). It often feels like they are looking for reasons to reject applications rather than help citizens. Given the efficiency of Counter A, it would be better to outsource Counters B and C as well. No parking facility available -- had to park at Ampa Skyone Mall nearby. Overall, an extremely slow, inefficient, and poorly managed system that has failed to be citizen-friendly. One of the worst public service experiences. Too bad Google doesn't have a negative rating .

Had such a bad experience here. The employees are so rude and unhelpful. So, I'm from Bangalore and moved to Chennai, wanted to get passport for my mother in Chennai because there is no one there to take her and since I have a new born, I'm unable to travel. My mother is 58 years old and they did not let me inside along with her telling only people who are aged 60+ can be accompanied. My mother was inside for 3.5 hours, I was not able to call her to get updates as there was no network inside. This is so disappointing to send a person who is unaware of procedures and the staff in there shows no proper guidance inside and we wait outside like a parent waiting for a kid to finish with exams. Why can't a person go along with an old person just to stand in queues, check the tokens and assist them? This is absolute shame. Despite giving the reason for applying here, the staff in counter B kept making rude statements telling "we already have so much work, why are you applying here!" Later made her wait for hours and in the closing time asked her to get a letter in writing for the reason, made her run between counters. I enquired and then applied, there was never a place where they told I can't apply, provided I have the documents intact. The staffs have 0 professionalism and humanity. Absolute shame.

Had renewed my passport twice here earlier and today for my daughter too.. Based on my previous experiences, i opted for this office for my daughter. Each time it was very smooth with no hassles.. The appointment today was at 12.15pm & we were out by 1.30pm with all process completed successfuly.. Adding to the above today(27.01.26). Got the renewed passport on hand on 17th Jan 2026.. Just 8 days.. Great service by this PSK.. Yes, washroom facilities can be provided to the accompanying people within the complex.. Otherwise, service wise it was a seamless experience everytime for us.
