Passport Seva Kendra, Rajaji Salai

One of the very few places where people keep up timing and so helpful. I took my kid for passport interview today, and i found the officials are so helpful. 1st a person will check your documents and proofs to ensure you got everything in order. If you dont have something, she will tell you what is missing and ask you to go get it. There are xerox and printout shops available very nearby and you can easily get them. Once documents are verified, you'll be asked to stay there in the same hall, or you'll be asked to wait in a big waiting area in first floor. You no need to worry that you might miss your slot as you will be called in a mic by the person ( the same person who verified your documents) and it'll be loud and clear. Once you entered into the hall, its a matter of 30-40 mins to finish all the process. I highly recommend this place if you're in Chennai and from Tamilnadu, for your passport needs. Note:- if you're from other state, you need to go to Saligramam i think.

Worst and slowest service i have ever seen.. Skip and book for amjikarai branch.. Nearly 4 hours delayed from my booking time. And not friendly environment..

So my slot was at 3pm and I was asked to be there at 2:45pm. I was there and when I went to register one lady told me that there was bomb threat and we had just started the work and if I wanted to have my lunch I could go and come. I told her that I've come with my baby who's just 50 days old and it'll be great if she can speed up the process. She said it's difficult but she would try. She did speed up the process and called me early and did my verification, but asked me to download my eaadhar. Apparently it doesn't get downloaded in iPhone. So I had to go to the waiting area where there was better network to download in my mothers phone and was baby was crying to be fed. I told her I'll be back soon as that lady told me that I'll be next. But to my surprise when I went there they called someone else. I did wait patiently until 4 people. I lost it and broke down in tears when they called the next person. They have no empathy nor sensitive to the situation despite me telling them that my baby is hungry and I need to feed her. Atleast they could have sent me saying you can feed your child and come back instead of holding me there. They literally made me wait there for 45mins and made my child cry and be in hunger. How can someone be so insensitive? I think even if men were there in their place they would have been sensitive. I just left the place and came to the waiting room to nurse my child. Then the admin came and asked me to finish my process. They dint even apologise. Infact this lady surya was on call most of the time while doing the process, when I was doing my process she was talking to her child asking if she did her exam well and telling that she'd be late from work, so your a mother and your bothered about your child but when someone has brought in a 50days old child you couldn be little sensitive? This experience has left me feeling hurt, upset, and emotionally distressed. I sincerely request that more sensitive and empathetic personnel be assigned to such public-facing roles, so that no other mother has to go through a similar experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and appropriate steps are taken to improve the conduct and responsiveness of staff in such situations. Surya and her team are the worst.
