VFS Global - Visa Application Centre India, Chennai

Honestly it used to be good before but over the last few months they are not aware of the latest policy. I would rather suggest going to a different city like Hyderabad and Delhi who are super quick and efficient and getting it done than going through it here. I had to wait for two and a half hours in priority lounge. They don't have a sos printer and want you to walk up and down for printout ( new rule of color printout suddenly has come up initially they would ask not to carry it). No regard for the people.

They have shifted to Ramee Mall. On the 2nd floor. The staff are cordial and answer our queries with a smile. There is ample parking in the basement ( 2 floors) the charge Rs.30 for the first 3 hours and extra 20 for additional hour above the 3 hours. If you miss the entry for Ramee Mall, you can access the parking through the Hyatt entrance and exit too. Lift on the rear leads to the 2nd floor. VFS is the documents collection centre for the various European Countries to which we are applying for the visa. This new office has numerous counters to attend to us immediately. After the initial security check, they ask if we need premium lounge service. They charge Rs 2000 per person while the photos and xerox - printouts are complimentary for the same...... If we don't have the required documents or photos , we have to take the same from OneVasco which is on the same floor. Photo charges are Rs.200. Xerox Rs. 5. Printout is Rs.30. They accept gpay. For the Visa Charges, we can pay through Gpay , card or cash. The place is well maintained. The staff direct us accordingly. I was totally impressed with the amazing face-lift this place has got. The process took us couple of hours. The lifeless Ramee Mall has suddenly become buzzling with busy bees wanting to fly out of the country......

We applied for a Schengen visa for Switzerland. Although there are four counters dedicated to Switzerland, the processing is extremely slow. It seemed like some of the staff might still be in the learning phase, as each application was taking several hours to be processed completely. Even for passport collection, we had to wait for hours. It's unclear why applicants are required to wait so long just to collect their passports. I'm not sure whether this experience is specific to the Chennai center or common across all centers, but be prepared to spend the entire day there! There are lockers available to store laptops; however, they charge 300 for the service.

Visited the VFS Global centre for my Swiss student visa stamping. The entire process was smooth and well-organized. I was scheduled between 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM. Upon arrival, I received a token and proceeded to submit the required documents. The staff were courteous, and the wait time was minimal. Delivery Charges: The courier service for passport delivery costs a little over 1,000. If you're staying nearby, I'd recommend picking it up in person to save on that fee. They'll give you a call once your passport is ready for collection. Mine surprisingly took just 4 days for submitting and they give it to you in a neat envelope. While getting your passport, you are supposed to give another proof such as passport and the appointment slip along with it I've attached the tariff details below for reference. Such a smooth seamless communication with VFS global, recommend highly.

The new place is very much better with a seamless flow. The place is also clean and neat. The ambience inside is good. Place to sit is comfortable. The staff around are very cooperative and helpful. Some work seems to go on in the second floor, but does not seem to have much bearing on this. The important aspect was parking. Coming very early for an appointment does not seem to help. It should be okay if one comes say, 15 mins before the appointment. They also have premium lounge services. Car parking was there during the early hours when we came for our work. Decathlon is there on the ground floor for those who want to prepare for their trip. In all a short but a good experience.

Good, VFS Global provides a secure, efficient, and professional environment for visa processing. While the peak seasons can be busy, their value-added services (like the Premium Lounge and Courier options) make the journey much smoother than traditional embassy visits.

I had a very bad experience at VFS Global Chennai. The staff showed no respect for the token system at all. They simply called people randomly, and it genuinely felt like they prioritized those who looked wealthy while completely ignoring the rest of us. Their attitude was rude and unprofessional. The way some staff members looked at us made it feel like we were there to beg for something, not to complete an official process we paid for. I had to wait almost 3 hours, not because the center was crowded, but because they just didn't care to follow the queue or treat everyone equally. Watching them give priority to certain people while the rest waited endlessly was incredibly frustrating and unfair. Overall, this was one of the worst service experiences I've ever had. I hope they improve their system, treat people with dignity, and respect the token order.

The usual efficiency you've come to expect from VFS. Well maintained, clean facility. Polite and helpful staff. Ample car parking available as it is a mall. Yes, the print and copying service available nearby is pricey. And the washrooms are quite basic.
